Omphaloskepsis 12/08/2005 10:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here´s another reason. I love weekends, that´s when they say the stuff they figure people will miss. ========================================================== Posted on: Friday, 29 October 2004, 21:00 CDT E-mail this to a friend Printable version Change Font Size: A A A Russia Launches Communications Satellite Excerpt from report by Russian news agency Interfax Moscow, 30 October: A Proton-K booster rocket lifted off from the Baykonur cosmodrome at 0211 Moscow time today [2211 gmt on 29 October] carrying a Russian Ekspress-AM1 communications satellite, a spokesman for the Russian Space Agency command centre reported to Interfax. The launch proceeded smoothly, he said. The rocket is expected to place the satellite into its planned orbit at 0845 Moscow time on 30 October [0445 gmt]. The Ekspress-AM1 satellite was developed by the Academician Reshetnev applied mechanics association and will provide a range of services (digital radio and TV, telephony, videoconferencing, data transmission, Internet broadband) and also to expand the VSAT communication network. Ekspress-AM series satellites are part of Russia´s Federal Space Programme for 2001 to 2005, and are the most powerful Russian-made satellites of their class. Their purpose is to renew and enhance the Russian orbital grouping, but their coverage zone is not only Russia but other countries as well. [Passage omitted] [There are 14 satellites in Russia´s orbital group, ITAR-TASS news agency reported at 2216 gmt. This includes two of the same family as the Ekspress-AM. In all, five are due to be launched by mid-2005, the agency said.] [link to www.rednova.com] |

You would think they would like to do it now, so that they arent fighting in the frigid cold of the north, then when they have everyone under their thumb, those who fled and escaped capture would be in the wild at the risk of suffering the winter. I can see both pros and cons for a late fall strike. If it were me, I would definitely strike before winter. Where would people go with winter right around the corner? But if in winter, the people just might get the nerve to face the cold knowing that in only a few months that spring would be near, and if they could survive the winter, that they could escape further in spring? |
