And peoples still believe all this volcano activity is 'normal'?

20 highly active volcano is a HUGE increase of sulfure and other gaz on earth atmosphere. the drastic change on air - oxygen % composite is a real thread for many living spicies.

I hate to be the doom prophet but its not going to slow down the volcanos are just increase earth geo sismic instability. expect more soon.

I would hate to find out if the earth stopped releasing it's gases and what effect that would have on the tectonic plates globally.... Do we need to have these on going volcanos to release pressure to avoid earthquakes? IMHO I think so.

Nicaraguan volcano spews out ash cloud
Telica volcano, in western Nicaragua, spews a huge cloud of gas and ash reaching almost one mile into the air.

Volcanic ash was scattered over nearby houses and farming communities close to the volcano.

The 3,477-foot volcano, which is one of the most active in the country, also generated a series of small earthquakes last week.

Volcano in Russia's Far East spews ash to 6.5 km
10:36, May 24, 2011

Karymsky volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East has spewed ash to an altitude of 6,500 meters, local media reported Monday.

Nearly 180 earthquakes in surrounding areas were recorded by seismographs in the past 24 hours.

Specialists said there was no danger for local settlements including Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky some 100 km away from the volcano.

Karymsky volcano, directly north of Karymsky Lake, started to erupt on Jan. 2, 1996 and continues to emit ash and steam with increasing intensity.

5 quakes recorded in Taal volcano

May 24, 2011

MANILA -- Government seismologists said Sunday that five volcanic earthquakes were felt during the past 25 hours near Taal Volcano.

Water temperature at the volcano's Main Crate Lake also increased from 31.8 degrees Celsius to 32.0 degrees Celsius, while the pH value became more slightly acidic, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

It was also observed that Taal's edifice remains inflated.

With this, the Phivolcs announced that alert level 2 is still in effect over Taal. This alert level status means that "magma has been intruding toward the surface, as manifested by the continuing high emission rate of CO2 being released in the Main Crater Lake and sustained seismic activity."

Phivolcs advised the public not to go near the Main Crater, Daang Kastila Trail and Mt. Tabaro as "sudden hazardous steam-driven explosions may occur and high concentrations of toxic gases may accumulate."

Breathing air with high concentration of toxic gases can be lethal to human, animals and even cause damage to vegetation, it said.

Phivolcs also reminded the public that the entire Volcano Island is a Permanent Danger Zone, and permanent settlement in the island is strictly not recommended.

Re: !Worldwide Volcanos WATCH! 20 ACTIVEs right now, report event here!
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday said it detected 4 volcanic quakes from the restive Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon in the past 24 hours.

Phivolcs recorded 11 volcanic quakes after Mount Bulusan spewed ash on Friday morning.

The agency said the public must still remain vigilant, saying an ash explosion is still possible.

Mount Bulusan’s status remains at Alert Level 1.

Despite the danger, local tourists continue to flock to various hot and cold spring resorts in Irosin, with some of them merely shrugging off the threat of the volcano spewing ash.

Raul Hugo, an administration officer of the San Benon Hot Spring Resort, said the area has been spared from the volcano’s last ash explosion.

of course volcano is a part of earth life. but a sudden drastic increase of volcano and undersea volcano releasing Hydrogen sulfides suck the oxygen out of the water/air could bad effect on the ecosystem survival.
