I think the ending was a metaphor for the old 3d earth and the new 5d earth. The Service to Self people are going to get "left behind" and will experience all the doom that is about to come. The Service to Others will transform with the new earth and will be given the power of co-creation. We we be able to remake the earth into heaven!

The Event is a must watch show. I'm surprised there has been little discussion of it here. So many synchronicities with actual events taking place now, very interesting revelations and the series finale (?) was no less compelling. I think they told us what they wanted to reveal and that's it - but what they did discuss was really astonishing. Many will say it's just a show but I doubt it.

Funny... There was a commercial on fox tonight during American idol referring to a huge event coming this all and it was Simon Cowell's "x factor" show.

Exactly...so what difference does it make? Much like the ABC series "Defying Gravity" ended just before we found out what exactly was driving the crew nutso.

i think this is how you prefer to see it, because someone has instigated you with this idea - it was marketed to you by someone. (i mean no offense in saying that).
but consider this - what logic would be used to distinguish the "service to self" from the "service to others" people?
it would have to be an intelligent logic - a complex and fallible one. thus having enough information, people would be able to game it, as they do with any other complex system.
there had been some very vague reference to some sort of transformational event in the latest episode of the event, but if it was the ascension - then why the hell the original ETs went away from this planet to another one, which is now dying?

it doesn't matter if it's cancelled. it's all about what message it tried to deliver and by whom. who paid for the show - wilcock got the info that the pentagon paid about 60% of it.

i think the main message of the show tried to be - beware of aliens - they may be just like us - lying parasites with no remorse to kill everything that's not them, and many times even that.

Don't read to much into it dude, the pepes who write these shows are human and apply what they see and hear in the world into their work.
It would'nt supprise me to find out they lurk on glp.

First hour guest, Richard C. Hoagland talked about what was behind JFK's now 50-year old mandate for the US to go to the moon. He also reported that it's soon to be announced that the moon has as much water inside it as the Earth has in its oceans. Further, he suggested that Comet Elenin, may be some kind of ship coming into our solar system "on a hyperbolic trajectory in the plane of the planets...timed to arrive this fall."

lol dude i've been watching this show since the very start. it makes no sense they have no idea what they're doing. it was to scare the sheep. it sucked hopefully aliens attack. but i think the show got canceled.

The aliens on that show aren't aliens they are time travellers from the future.

I liked it a lot. Interesting how it pulled so many current topics together. One of those shows that had me constantly saying out loud " I can't believe they did that", "I can't believe they said that", and "OMG, this is so close to the truth".

I did my part, and complained to NBC about cancelling it.
The EVENT is the only NBC show that I watched, and one of the few shows that I pull away from the computer for.

What did it say? Anyone knows?

UPDATE: No surprise there - NBC has pulled the plug on the low-rated sci-fi drama The Event, which started off strongly but quickly fizzled. But there is a twist, and it's not only the big surprise planned by the producers for the finale. Talks are underway with at least one distribution partner to take over the serialized drama. The Event executive producer Steve Stark wouldn't comment, but I hear new original programming player Netflix's name tossed around. Word is that there has been interest from several cable and digital entities. Stark said that they are exploring the opportunities with  the "full support" of the studio, UMS. "NBC has been an amazing partner, it launched the show beautifully," he said. Added creator Nick Wauters: "We have a dedicated fan base, and we promised them we will deliver one way or another and will continue to tell our stories.

It sucks that The Event and V both got cancelled and if anyone watched the final episode of V it was very violent murdering aliens ....

I don't know if I want to get interested in another new series if they are just going to cancel it so soon, remember the other one fast forward or whatever it was called, didn't last long at all

NBC did the same thing with Battlestar Galactic. SciFi picked it up and ran for like 4 or 5 years. Pretty damn good.
