I don't believe the colonists (13 colonies) made use of slaves. The colonists also made treaty with the Natives.

After the American Revolution when wicked Washington DC was founded the treaties were broken. The Indians had treaties for land reparations. Many Africans did take advantage of the reparations in the country founded for them, Liberia, Africa.

Many blacks in America today are not even descended from the African slaves. They came here later as immigrants because they have more rights here than anywhere else.

The Americans today did not enslave anyone and should not have to pay anything. If Washington is found to have committed slave crimes then they pay.
