Here is how they translate the first part of Genesis... This is very weird indeed.

This deals with The Old Testament and not the New Testament...here is an example of a translation comparison.

The "new" translation seems to say that we should envision Joseph and to show kindness and protect our brothers as Joseph did when they came to him during the famine...

It seems like the translation won't change the overall story but may enrich the moral of the tale.

In the end those who believe will believe and those who don't won't...
