Re: anyone else learning another language that is not a verbally spoken language?
Today I broke a small hole in a double-pane glass window and scratched near the hole with a small piece of straw to convince a hornet who'd become trapped between the panes to come out. I'd watched him struggle for about 20 minutes before I broke the escape hole. He came to the straw at first, but then I moved it too quickly, and he backed away. I kept scratching, and soon he came back to the hole and flew to freedom. It felt like I was communicating with him.
