so if it blows what are the consequences?

This volcano is only 31 miles from Manila, a city of over 20 million people. Ash from Taal's 1911 eruption landed on the city. The caldera is evidence of a massive eruption that happened some 100,000 years ago. Since then, Taal has "only" been a normal, Pinatubo-type volcano.
