Every other week or two they offer quite good dual-core Toshiba, Compaq, or HP laptops for under (or around) $300. Gotta be ready to jump on it the minute it shows up because they sell out very fast (an hour-ish). |

Not a well known name yet but they have been on the manufacturing end for years. I have had great experiences with Sony Vaio, but they will cost more than you need to pay when there is so much competition. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1307381 United States 05/30/2011 03:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | possible to find a laptop exchange venue/store near you...best bet for a used and good working laptop best overall is a mac...no virus, no problems, use firefox 3.6 do not use firefox 4...bad! a good used mac is much better than any new pc...way too much virus attacks and by the time you spend for all the software to protect yourself including stupid updates all around for micro software you will conclude that a macintosh is the best overall good luck |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1361876 United States 05/31/2011 01:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm using an e-machine - 300$ after tax - big screen, not good for playing music, but other wise fine. Been using it a year now. Can't beat the price to performance Celeron, 15.6 HD LCD 2GB Memory ( Hard to imagine we used to use 32 meg in 95!) 160GB HDD ( Hard to imagine 60meg in 95) 802.11 b/g/h - used to use wireless adapters. Battery life is really good. I bought my wife a mac a while back, no complaints there but their 1K! I just can't see spending 1K when all I do is use the internet. A doc here and there, a movie here and there. Screen is big, and very good resolution! emachines ( E527) good luck! |
