Eyewitness accounts from many of the survive crew including the captain outlined the event. After Israeli forces opened fire on them they put up a massive 50foot US flag. Israeli forces continued to fire on the ship. They even strafed the life boats.

No matter what your propaganda machine wants to say, the actual stories told by the crew of the US Liberty suggest it was no accident and unless the Israeli pilots were blind they KNEW it was an American vessel.
