Why do Germans have no sense of humor? Because they have their heads SQUEEZED since birth, hence: square heads.

Germans do have humor. BUT 1) they consider laughing out loud as being "emotional", which is a thing they never do because 2) they are terrified of "losing face", which they will do if they show anything akin to what they consider to be "emotional". Somehow, showing humor or too much of it is "beneath" them. The flip side is a deficit of self-esteem.

Also, after having lived here for 20 years, I think Germans are "godless" and "materialistic". They are more into "self" and not into sharing. Laughter is sharing, sharing joy and self and the aspect of letting go. Germans are too proud, too stingy and ultimately, too scared for that.
