....

So you wouldn't take action against an oppressive power? You're the kind of person that sleeps well at night knowing that "big brother" has your back.

Your type actually sickens me shitstream
 Quoting: googooflexy

People with a brain.

I sure wouldn't be so fucking stupid to email my congressman about it.

I'm glad you did though, maybe they'll haul you in before long and you'll just disappear.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1408530

Since you decided to edit it out of your response, let me reiterate : Revolution is not going to be either polite, or politically correct.
Believe it or not, there is such a thing as violence in the world. There are many that would use it against innocent civilians, and those need to be stopped.
When we finally end up shipping all the crooked congressmen and police elsewhere, I'll make sure they take you with them.
Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

Red list for sure.

OP go check your mail box for a round sticker and tell us what color it is.

Also if there is a sticker on your mail box I would remove it ASAP.

You're lucky they didn't taser you (which would have been ironic).

Saying that you're willing to die and all that crap? Dude, trolling a Congressman isn't the same as trolling on GLP; there *are* consequences.

Re: Police questioned me after an email to my congressman
Just minutes ago, the police left my house. They were "investigating" an email that I sent to my congressman. To give some context, I was reading an article here on GLP about police shooting up a neighorhood in NJ to kill a neighborhood dog : Thread: Police Fire Off 33 Rounds to Kill Dog, Bullets Hit Houses and Cars
My post is on page 2

I was frustrated and sent this email to my congressman (as I've done many times):

Good afternoon Congressman Mulvaney,

It has come to my attention that this nation needs a big change concerning law enforcement. It's not only cases such as the one in NJ recently about officers firing 33 rounds into homes and cars to kill a neighborhood dog, but personal cases of my own that I've actually witnessed here in SC.
The fact that police can use this excessive force whenever they want is unacceptable. I'm personally looking to YOU to help us change this. Not just in SC, but across the nation.
I should NEVER be afraid to speak to, see, or be around a police officer, but I am. In fact, every one of my peers feels the same way. As a 22 year old fresh out of college, the burden to sustain this country is going to be on MY shoulders soon. I will NOT have the only entity that can legally deprive its citizens of their life, liberty, and property free to run amok in this manner. It's a power that should be SEVERELY limited, and I certainly hope that you would agree.
Mick Mulvaney, my blood will be on your hands if a police officer acts in this way in my neighborhood. I WILL take action against an oppressive power of this nature, and will likely die doing so. It's unfortunate that this is the nature of things these days and I certainly hope that you can help. Your job depends on it.

Thanks for your time,
-Cameron

A few moments ago, police knocked on my door to question me about it. I actually thought they were going to question me about an incident in the neighborhood recently, but to my surprise, mentioned my letter to Mick Mulvaney. They said that it sounded threatening and they were coming to just check on things...
One of the officers was actually a guy I went to highschool with, so I didn't make a scene or anything. I just thought that it was kind of strange that they'd be so on edge about this. I wonder if they investigate every irate citizen's emails to their congressmen...
 Quoting: googooflexy

Dont be concerned with these things son. The dollar, banks and stocks are about to crash and we only have a month or so to go. Representatives wont work for free and the corrupt elite wont be paying them with gold and silver they stole after the system crashes.

Better days ahead!, now go stock up to make it go easier!

Big mistake IMO. I write politicians all the time, but I know what lines not to cross.

Threatening violence against law enforcment in an open manner like this has accomplished nothing but provide our oppressive government with the identity of a violent dissenter.

You are most certainly on the list. I am probably on it too just because of the sheer volume of my complaints and the numerous times I have toed the line.

Just be careful not to cross certain lines. With that letter you went too far, now you will have to face any possible consequences.

Let me get this straight...

You have a college education, but didn't understand that the last paragraph was easily interpreted as your intent to kill law enforcement and die in the process?

You did have to take some English classes right?

Try to remember to proof read any correspondence you write to ANYONE in the future, and try to read it from the perspective of it's intended recipient.

Keep in mind that you are now on record for sending a letter mentioning violent intentions to a Government Official.

If you strike out again, you very well may have any number of charges laid down on you.

I suggest you put the pen down, and look to others to author your frustrations for you.

You showed very poor judgment in writing and sending this letter with that last paragraph included.

Good luck in your future endeavors.

resist
 Quoting: STYLIE

Well hello Mr. "I don't like to read before I post"

I said that I realize that someone who didn't read the article I was referring to could take it the wrong way.

I also never threatened the congressman. If they'd like to subpoena me for any of my future emails (because there will be), then I'll gladly challenge their accusations in court.

The day that a person can't stand up to an oppressive power and challenge it freely is a sad day in America. Especially when I'm only using my words. Imagine the resistance if the day comes when we physically have to challenge this "authority". Are we going to try to be all "politically correct" about it or fucking take control?

I'm not too keen on the whole "soft touch" approach folks. You need a firm hand to deal with these assholes.

-------------------------------------------------------------
You emailed your intent to harm Gov't Officials i.e. our Para-Military Enforcement Officers (Cops).

My reading comprehension isn't in question.

Not only have I seen many articles referring to the incident in NJ, I viewed several videos from local news stations as well.

I am well informed on the incident that incited such an passionate response in the form of your correspondence with your Congressman.

My advice has nothing to do with being soft, so put your dick back in your pants tough guy.

I was trying to keep you from incriminating yourself.

Your heart is in the right place, but as I originally prefaced my original response to you... your an idiot for not foreseeing the reaction the Congressman's AIDS would have to your letter.

Congressmen only read a fraction of what is sent to them, office staff take care of that for them.

Bottom line, you fucked up. I wish you luck, I hope you don't make it a habit that bites you in the ass.

And thats why you morons are making the situation much worse. We stand a chance if we present ourselves as responsible adults, but idiotic statements like the one above just make the rest of us look bad.

I've dealt with cops all my life, some good, some bad, but not ONCE have they come to my house for saying something stupid.

And not once have I seen a video of someone getting a beat down from the Cops because they were just standing there. Every last one of these morons argues with the cop and then gets beat.

You all want to be "tough guys" and argue their right to arrest you, but obviously, the cops don't care. In their eyes your already guilty, so instead of making things worse, just take it and deal with it maturely.

I know, you have no interest in listening to anything I have to say, so just go ahead, threaten TPTB.. give those assholes in the Ivory Tower the ammo they need to lock us down tighter than Soviet Russia.

You're saying you're likely to die in a bloody shootout with police. No wonder they knocked on your door to see if you seem really crazed. They would be negligent if they didn't.

You "WILL take action"?
