Police questioned me after an email to my congressman

I'm done, many in America are upset, but the internet is not secure. You are making a BIG MISTAKE in my opinion. There are other ways......I suggest you find them and direct this energy towards safer, more productive ends.

Especially after what happened to Giffords, I think it's entirely reasonable that police would come check on someone who wrote an unbalanced letter mentioning dying in the act of taking action... I think that's suggestive of a certain mindset that could be assumed to be on the edge or just plain coo coo crazy.

You went over a line, lost your cool, whatever. As a citizen and a father, I'm frankly glad you were questioned. Looking at the big picture, I too am upset when police abuse their powers - but hostile, angry youth tend to ignore every beneficial act performed by law enforcement and end up with a skewed perspective. Law enforcement mostly does good - like keeping tabs on someone who is in a mental state where they may do harm to themselves or someone else.

Submit the story of your letter and the resulting visit to editorial pages of your local and regional news publications and respected news blogs. This should provide the maximum exposure to what could be perceived as intimidation techniques. And may discourage its continuation.
