When is the last time you saw a storm move DOWN the east coast not up??

yeah its all fucked up. But someone will surely says "It has always been like this" or some media person will create a NAME for the patterns and claim it has always happened..

Yeah, they'll say it's rare but it does happen. Then they'll dismiss the string of "rare" events we keep seeing as if it's normal to have rare event after rare event and that it isn't all connected, just a series of unfortunate, unrelated, rare events.

Wasn't it last week that the storms were coming off the east coast and moving inland? Or the week before? Another "rare" event. And don't even think of saying the string of extremely violent weather in the midwest and all the resulting deaths isn't normal. Or the epic flooding. Shhhh.

The storm is over the water, NOT the land. If this was over land, then yes, I would think it was strange.

i had thought about changes in weather patterns after the BP oil spill in the gulf. the gulf stream is a huge ocean conveyer.

Last week

I remember them coming down from there all the time. I grew up surfing in Florida, and we couldn't wait until big storm systems came down. NE wind along East coast makes for big waves.

Uh ... Nor'Easter?

It is an odd time of the year for a nor'easter though.
When I lived near OBX we had them in late late winter/early spring.This one is 3 months behind.

Yep. Nor'Easters would bring in the big waves because how the coast is angled. We would get them about every other year or so. Waves would jump up to about 10-12 feet and fucking washing machine rough. A day or two later, after the 'front' would pass, dawn patrol...epic waves.
