PLEASE>.does anyone know the law! My neighbor keeps killing our cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I wish I did!
We had a neighbor once who killed another neighbor's cats.
They were told either pay for an autopsy or it couldn't be proved.

I need some legal help. This is the second time Ive caught my neighbor shooting a cat..the first time it was mine.

This time it was someone else's, and they called the sheriff, just like I did when he shot mine.

We live in the county, so its sherifs that come to deal with this. The time he shot my cat, I called. They came..searched his house, didnt find his gun.

I knew that was bullshit..but asked the cop if it was legal for him to KILL my goddamn cat. He said no..unless he feels threatened.

So....I went down to the asshole's house..confronted him, told him he just shot one of my family, and I will see his entrails strewn about in the road..and lots of other lovely things I probably shouldnt have said..but he DID back up in his house and turned a whiter shade of pale.

Anyway, that was last year..I havent heard of any more shootings until today..and it was his next door neighbors cat this time. ( I live 4 houses up)...well sheriff came, was there all of two minutes and left..looks like this guy is getting away with murder, literally.

NO>.im not a nosey neighbor..I was out with some other neighbors and SAw HIM DO IT!~ I didnt go over to his house this time because I had a couple beers..and well..not a good thing..

What the hell can we do, legally...looks like the law isnt going to do anything. I know some of you dont give a shit that it's a cat..but my cats are my family! Other than actually shooting a flaming arrow into his roof, does any of us have a leg to stand on!!!

BTW-I hate cats as indoor pets but I do understand cat owners.

Me too, they keep down vermin. But if they serve no purpose akin to rat killing...they are senseless brutes to samll animals. Ie. possible future food sources. Keep them indoors or don't keep them at all. The OP is probably a raw food vegan as well.

I think if ya'll keep your cats home you wouldn't have this problem.
Used to set out the trap for them in my kids' sandbox, which all the neighbors cats used as a liter box.
Then I'd take a picture of them around to the neighbors-no one would claim they are theirs...off to the pound.
I could't see why I would have to clean the cat crap out of the " sandbox converted to liter box". Would you let kids play in your liter box?
One neighbors cat kept coming over and jumping the birds by our bird feeder and catching and killing some.
Might not be right for him to kill the cats but it's definitely illegal and breaks the leash law to let cats run free.

Get a camera so you can "shoot" him as he does his "shooting." Then you'll have solid evidence.

Cat was on his property right?
He could catch the cat and call animal control and have it taken to the pound and you would have to pay to get it out.
Or he can shoot it if its on his property.
People who let their cats run allover the place are irresponsible and should not own animals or possibly have children.

keep your stupid ass cat in your house or your yard.. That would probably help it... In fact I just took one out myself...

There are laws with using guns in a residential area. Check the city laws.

fuck the law. sugar in the gas tank, nails in the driveway, dead fish in the mailbox, grease on the car tires, dogshit in/on the newspaper, BB gun to the windows, calls to child abuse line(anonymous, of course), calls from a phone booth(hang up when the wife answers), these are just a few things that come to mind.

Don't encourage bad cat ownership. And leave your neighbours guns alone unless they are aimed at you.

It is perfectly normal to allow a cat to roam outdoors. It is not being a bad owner. People who shoot cats have serious mental issues and should not have guns.
