PLEASE>.does anyone know the law! My neighbor keeps killing our cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a "cat door"..my cats go in and out..but never leave my yard..this guy shot my cat IN my yard..my neighbors saw it..that's why i called the sheriff..but today..he shot the cat out in the street.

WRONG! I asked the sheriff..if it was legal for him to shoot my cat even if it was in his yard..he said NO..not unless he felt threatened..but looks like no one obeys the goddamn law.

I wish you luck. Sadly pets are just considered property no different than farm animals. They only have a price tag on their heads, and the bad guys go mostly unpunished.

I am sure legally you can do something, call the local ASPCA and see what they tell you. Personally, I would take a 30-90 day assault charge and beat the ever living shit out of him and see if that curbs his cruelty at all.

Mr Bit..im sorry to hear that..but..a cat and a pit bull are two different species..a cat will not rip a dog to pieces..

My cats never leave my yard, either. Most of the time they are all lounging on my bed. They go out to potty and eat some grass.

I am just so sorry you had to go through that. They really do become like your children. They are family members.

When I was on tour, a guy in another band (a guitar player) kicked a starving cat hard that ran up to him crying/meowing from the dumpster. It began to trust people because I was feeding it a few hours earlier since the thing was starving. Someone came on the bus and told me, so I got the end of a ball peen hammer, held his hand against the concrete, and beat his hand/knuckles in. The band could not continue the tour and he could not play guitar the same way ever again I heard.

Sometimes people need to learn tough lessons in life, but I always believe in standing up for innocent creatures not human scum.

My mother lived to 84. She passed away just one week after the cat she had for 15 years died. I know if anything were to ever happen to my Jazzy cat I would be devistated.

I had a neighbor like that at one time. Always killing cats. I keep my cats inside. The don't get killed by somebody else. As bad as it sounds, keep them inside.

Well..we live in the country/county..and my cats are "used" to going outside..I've tried to lock the cat door..and they actually broke the lock trying to get back outside..they just love to be out on the deck..and relax under the oak trees..eat some grass..chase butterflies..

This just really disturbs me and I have been reading about animal cruelty stuff on GLP almost every other day. The men laughing are neanderthals at best, seems like a group mentality. Maybe individually it would bother them more. Sorry you had to witness/go through that again, just gives me more energy to fight the good fight!

I also love the doggies. I had a little mixed hound once named Suzy. She lived 14 years and when she died it hit me so hard I was never able to bring myself to get another dog.

About 15 years ago I was taking care of a friends dog. This is the middle of nowhere and I had 16 acres so my friend asked that his dog be able to run free and enjoy country life.

I had to drive poor Jupiter into the animal hospital at 100 MPH after he came back with a gun shot wound. That boy was a total sweetie and would never harm anyone and they shot him.

His back leg had to be reconstructed and the poor gut was in misery for months.

Your neighbor can't kill your cat if you keep it at home.

It is unbelievable to me that you believe your right to own an animal includes your right to allow it to be a nuisance to everyone else.
