Over population is the #1 problem in the world today. Practically every problem on the planet can be tied directly to over population.

In Sparta (a Greek city-state) boys were taken from their mothers at age seven to live with other boys and begin their military training. At age 12 they were paired with an older single man (22-25 years old) who became their teacher, mentor and lover. The problem the Spartans had was when it came time for men to be married they didn't want to leave their male partners.

To make it easier for her husband to have sex with her on their wedding night the bride would shave her head and wear the clothes of a young boy. Her husband would leave his male lover, come to be with his wife, and then return to his male lover. Some men only took a couple of days before they moved in with their wife, but others took years or never made the transition to normal sexual relations.

Hello. You seem to have attracted a lot of nutjobs out there.

Anyway, I am in the northwest suburbs of New York City, about 20-25 miles out. We seem to have a decent-size gay population here, though I am so far unable to find anybody of any persuasion lesbian, gay, transexual, straight, whatever, who may actually be interested in anything of the survivalist's creed.

It is -- it seems -- a lonely world out here. There must be others.

I am interested in your ideas, curious if you've had much serious response to your post besides all of the dribble I've seen so far.

I am a gay man that is looking for groups or communities that are open and accepting. I don't have a partner, just got out of a 5 year relationship when I came back to Iowa. I am educated, teacher by profession, and know how to clean a fish and plant a garden. Been doing that 90% of my life and love doing it. I was in the military so don't really consider myself to be "sissy boy" as some others have posted on here. I am also a Christian, and yes I know Jesus loves me just the way our Father made me. Curious as it may seem, I would place bets on an all LGBT or nearly all LGBT community as being more fit to survive than all straight.

1. They will control reproduction, no 'accidents' to eat up all the resources early on. Trust me, if they need to the LGBT will resort to the old fashion method in order to have kids. Many already do this to have children.

2. Most gays know how to fight - thanks to all the bashers that forced them to take self defense lessons in order to survive 'the real world'.

3. Many LGBT are artsy - meaning they learned old skills which are considered arts today from basket weaving to making homemade soaps and candles.

4. Many LGBT have adopted children, thus upping the genetic diversity of the individual families, thus the whole tribe would have a greater chance of surviving genetically speaking.

It is really sad ... in fact, worse than sad ... to see all these horrible negative postings on here regarding this topic. The one common thread that I see in the hate messages in this thread is that angry-heterosexuals who state "Die!" and all that ... don't realize they they themselves could be dead 5 minutes from now or 5 days or weeks or months or years from now ... nobody knows and nobody survives this world. So when I see all the "Let's kill the gays..." stuff; I just roll my eyes. Just goes to show you how stupid people are. If I was heterosexual and I knew of any gay people I would make friends in a survivalist situation; the gay people can outthink you and most are assuming that a gay man cannot stand up for himself/herself ---- I would be veerrrrrry careful if I were you. A gay man may actually one day prolong your life by giving you food or clothing when you are in dire straits ... oh that's right ... you still think about the negative stuff..... grow up people.

You'll have major problems with hygene.

Without enemas, condoms, modern medicine (antibotics), you'll end up with urinary tract infections they will eventually go septic leaving all the bottoms with no top.

LOL - why can't you just form a community with people of ANY sexual orientation? Why the need to separate yourself by sexual preference? And you have still not addressed how you can survive if you don't have sexual intercourse with women. You kind of need that to have offspring in a world where artificial insemination may not be available anymore. Kinda takes the punch out of the word "survival", don't you think?
