If Texas seceded, it would be on the wrong side of the border fence, they must as well raise the Mexican flag over the state capital as soon as they vote to secede. So it depends which state, but definitly not Texas. |

It depends....if they are doing it to become a true Republic again, then yes. Wouldn't matter where, but a State with ocean boarders would be the best. Until this happens, we're only left with..... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1401153civil war genius you'd better just try to make things better, unless you like war. So what are you saying...that if your first noble cause doesn't succeed just turn tail, give into tyranny and slavery? Peaceful revolution is the answer. Drop out of the system and stop supporting it if you want change. The damn globalists want a violent uprising anyway and secession plays right into their trap. |

I suspect if a state seceded and reformed a true constitutional republic that millions of Americans would flock there and the prosperity would be unimaginable. |

Another History Rewrite Tard. The Civil War was at it's core all about Slavery, virtually all of it's leaders said so when the War was beginning ... though after the South lost they suddenly for some reason changed their public statements. If Texas was to succeed ... it would be Hispanic ruled within 20 years, probably 15 (for sure), ... and part of Mexico within 30 (imo). Don't believe me? Take a look at the Demographics of the state, particularly the birth death models. More Hispanic children have been born in Texas than Caucasion for every year since 1996 ... and the difference has been steadily growing [link to www.dshs.state.tx.us] In 2009 Hispanics made up 36.9% of the population, and Caucasions made up 46.7% of the population. [link to www.google.com] "...By 2020, the Texas Hispanic population is expected to outnumber the White population (Exhibit 8). Between 2000 and 2040 the Hispanic population will triple in Texas’ urban areas, from 5.9 million to 17.2 million. In rural areas, the Hispanic population is expected to double, from 777,000 to 1.6 million...." [link to www.window.state.tx.us] |

It would take nothing less than volumes to show you definitively that the Civil War was PRIMARILY about the Constitutional rights of individual sovereign states. Slavery became an economic byproduct to the war. Lincoln was NOT an abolitionist and stated full well that he would "not free a single slave" if it would save the union. And he also stated that he would "free the slaves" (although not in the north or border states) if he believed it would save the union. Confederates offered to free their slaves if they would serve in the Confederate Army. Jefferson Davis made it quite clear that "This war is about states rights to govern their own destiny, not about slavery." However, even if you presume yourself to be correct in 1860 what does that have to do with fighting off the slavery, tyranny, and villainy that is perpetrated on the American people by it's caring, benevolent government today in 2011? Unless, of course, you believe that I am again rewriting history and am wholly misguided. Am I to suppose that according to you we are a free society, a free people where politicians are working hard for your good, policemen are your friends and the government is here to "help you". After all they're the "good guys"...right? But I suppose that you also believe the Warren Commission. The Commission Report on 9/11. And that the fruit in the Garden was an apple.
