Just to clear this issue, Mars isnt moving backward....
Mars' orbital period is 686.971 days (wikipedia)
since the Earths orbital period is below that (1year) it slowly 'catches up' in this chart...

this is kinda freaky that this random guy went on yesterday and posted this in the morning before any activity of the sun or our magnetosphere. does anyone think he might be right?

Just came from outside using welding shades to look at the sun, that was 5 minutes ago its 12:52 pm here in San Diego and im blind now. Wow the sun through my Welding Goggles
is still bright. I have read lots of sun threads, we all have right? this one makes me feel uncomfortable and a hella concerned,

how do i stop my self from panicking i think im freaking out. i have this feeling that something really bad i about to happen soon.

i couldn't even look up today even when i was facing away from the sun, my eyes would start watering immed.

The Sun unleashed an M-2 (medium-sized) solar flare with a substantial
coronal mass ejection (CME) on June 7 that is visually spectacular. The
large cloud of particles mushroomed up and fell back down looking as if it
covered an area of almost half the solar surface.

SDO observed the flare's peak at 1:41 AM EST. SDO recorded these images in
extreme ultraviolet light and they show a very large explosion of cool gas.
It is somewhat unique because at many places in the eruption there seems to
be even cooler material -- at temperatures less than 80,000K.

When viewed in SOHO¹s coronagraphs, the event shows bright plasma and
high-energy particles roaring from the Sun. This Earth-directed CME is
moving at 1400 km/s according to NASA models. Due to its angle, however,
effects on Earth should be fairly small. Nevertheless, it may generate
space weather effects here on Earth in a few days.r surface!

The Sun put on yet another spectacular light show today with a massive solar flare captured in high definition by NASA’s space-based Solar Dynamics Observatory.

The solar eruption resulted in a massive plasma cloud being ejected from the Sun. Footage of the solar blast, classed an M2 Class Event, shows the eruption from sunspot 1226 blanketing almost one third of the solar disk.

The flare occurred at 6.41 A.M. GMT. today.

The US National Weather Service (NWS) today warned that the solar flare, one of the largest to occur since December 2006, will lead to Gemagnetic Storm activity tomorrow, Wednesday.

The NWS stated: “A dramatic eruption from an otherwise unimpressive NOAA Region 1226 earlier today is expected to cause G1 (minor) to G2 (moderate) levels of Geomagnetic Storm activity tomorrow, June 8, beginning around 1800 UTC with the passage of a fast CME. A prompt Solar Radiation Storm reached the S1 (minor) level soon after the impulsive R1 (minor) Radio Blackout at 0641 UTC. The Solar Radiation Storm includes a significant contribution of high energy (>100 MeV) protons, the first such occurrence of an event of that type since December 2006.”

In 1989, a geomagnetic storm energised ground induced currents which disrupted electric power distribution throughout most of Quebec province in Canada and produced aurorae as far south as Texas in the USA.

Earlier after I read a lot of the threads today I went to a devotional site by David Wilkerson(who died April27,2011)

His site is still up and they post devotionals he had written pryer to his passing.

I found it a comfort as always(to rest in God's love for us...,,perfect love casts out fear)

I have a special word for all who face impossibilities: A recovery of faith depends on a fuller revelation of the love of our heavenly Father toward us.

“The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17). Here is a glorious revelation of the steadfastness of God’s love for his people. Scripture tells us he rests and rejoices in his love for us!

The Hebrew word for “rest” here means God hasn’t a single question concerning his love for us. In other words, he has fixed, or settled, his love for us, and he will never take it away. In fact, we’re told God is so satisfied in his love for us that he sings about it.

Can you imagine this? Here is a manifestation in heaven of God’s delight over you. John Owen interprets the passage this way: “God leaps, as overcome with joy.”

Moreover, Paul tells us, everything that is out of divine order—all that is of unbelief and confusion—is changed by the appearance of God’s love. “After that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared” (Titus 3:4)

In the preceding verse, Paul says, “We ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived” (3:3). In other words: “Everything was out of order. Our faith was not an overcoming one. But the kindness and love of God appeared, which the Father shed on us abundantly through Christ.”

When Paul says the love of God “appeared,” he uses a word from a Greek root meaning “superimposed.” In short, the Lord looked down on us poor, struggling souls, full of fear and questioning, and he superimposed this revelation: “My love will deliver you. Rest and delight in my love for you.”

I thank God for the day his love “appeared” to me. There is no faith that can stand against impossibilities unless everything—every problem, every affliction—is committed into the loving care of our Father. When my situations are at their worst, I must rest in simple faith.

the carrington event was not a single event like many think but actually a barrage of events that effectively weakened Earths magnetic field to the point of causing electrical grid damage good thing there were few electrical items being used in 1859 and Earths magnetic field was a tad bit stronger then as well. I do truly believe the end of an age is at hand.
