America intenifying air raids on Yemen Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1420582Thank mate, Just like i said last night in the next few week they will also start to bomb Syria then Iran will start to be piss off and thing will escalate. They will announced officially in November that the world is now in a third world war. Your son and daughter will then have plenty of jobs and the funeral industry will have a major boom. For those who worry about nuclear scenario don't worry the scum bags staging this are not going to go live in bunkers for the next 50 years. It will be conventional with never before seen weapons that can wipe out an entire battalion without destroying the land. Historians are going to be pretty busy writing the new Zionists tale. I loved our planet so much fun thing to keep us entertain! Watching mass genocide with a beer on TV is what we call reality show at is best! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 957269The acceleration of the American campaign in recent weeks comes amid a violent conflict in Yemen that has left the government in Sana, a United States ally, struggling to cling to power. Yemeni troops that had been battling militants linked to Al Qaeda in the south have been pulled back to the capital, and American officials see the strikes as one of the few options to keep the militants from consolidating power. On Friday, American jets killed Abu Ali al-Harithi, a midlevel Qaeda operative, and several other militant suspects in a strike in southern Yemen. According to witnesses, four civilians were also killed in the airstrike. Weeks earlier, drone aircraft fired missiles aimed at Anwar al-Awlaki, the radical American-born cleric who the United States government has tried to kill for more than a year. Mr. Awlaki survived. [link to www.msnbc.msn.com] I guess the only way the US government can get out of their national debt problems now is to continue to illegally start overt wars to control or steal other peoples resources..well I guess at least (since clinto and bush) it's all out in the open now..rather than all those covert wars and hidden trade and unfavourable support agreements of the past. And before Americans shout out, I already know that the UK are equally as criminal...and that our whole history and development has been based on the same premise and principles around the world. Funny thing is, it is not and will never be a stable solution nor will the rewards last long... so the merry go round of death, destruction and reconstruction goes on and on and on..pathectic really! True. The supposed start date of world wars has been determined afterward by main stream historians working for the victors. However, you could say that WW1 really started with the Balkan wars of 1912-13 or even earlier. Also WW2 can be viewed as just a continuation of WW1 with a sort of lull in between. One seems to have built up to the other though. In the summer of 1941 most Americans didn´t perceive any world war. In Europe there was the usual civil war which had been ongoing for centuries and in Asia Japan, without natural resources and energy, was dealing with that by attacking those who had those resources. Business as usual. No big deal until Dec. 7th 1941. World War 3 probably started on 9/11 2001 or perhaps after the communist bloc collapsed in the nineties. Maybe the cold war really was WW3 and what we´ve been experiencing after that business model of the military industrial political complex collapsed really is thus WW4. Time will tell. |

Yemen's economy depends heavily on the oil it produces,[7] and its government receives the vast majority of its revenue from oil taxes. But Yemen's oil reserves are expected to be depleted by 2017, possibly bringing on economic collapse.[8] Yemen does have large proven reserves of natural gas.[9] Yemen's first liquified natural gas (LNG) plant began production in October 2009. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1421614 United States 06/09/2011 04:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since 2004, a civil war is being fought in Northern Yemen between Yemeni forces and Shiite Houthi rebels. In 2009, it spilled over into the neighboring border region of Saudi Arabia. This conflict is increasingly becoming a danger to regional stability, according to news reports by CNN[29] and the BBC,[30] as various countries are said to be involved, e.g. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan.[31] The United Nations[32] and UNDP Yemen report a growing problem of civilians fleeing from the region. Yemen is said to have more than 60 million guns.[33] The 2009 South Yemen insurgency has further destabilized the country. Some news reports have suggested that, on orders from President Barack Obama, US warplanes fired cruise missiles at what officials in Washington claimed were Al Qaeda training camps in the provinces of Sana’a and Abyan on December 17, 2009.[34] Other reports suggest that the airstrikes were carried out by Yemeni Mig-29 aircraft, probably helped by US intelligence,[35] or that cruise missiles were launched from warships offshore.[36] Officials in Yemen said that the attacks claimed the lives of more than 60 civilians, 28 of them children. Another airstrike was carried out on December 24.[37] Embassy of Yemen in Washington, D.C. On January 3, 2010, the U.S. and British embassies in Yemen closed for security reasons after the failed plot to bomb a plane in Detroit and after reports of eight individuals planning an attack on the embassy itself. One was arrested with a suicide vest, while three others were killed. Four remained at large as of January 4, 2010.[38] Despite these tensions between the US and Yemen, as well as increasing worries about terrorism in Yemen, President Obama has stated that he has no plans to introduce US military forces into the country, a sentiment that was echoed by US General David Petraeus. However, the terrorism worries seemed justified as a foiled terrorist plot was apparently conceived in Yemen. Instead of military intervention, the US government intends to increase military aid to $140 million in 2010.[39] Geopolitical significance of Yemen (primarily its straits and oil fields) keeps this country in the sphere of U.S. strategic interests. Control over the Aden port - the "gate to Asia" - brings huge benefits to the USA and opens infinite possibilities for maneuvering in front of them. However, America is not the only nation to be interested in Yemen. China is struggling to improve its influence in Sri Lanka and Burma to form new transport paths in the Persian Gulf, Africa, and Middle East area as naval paths of the Indian Ocean are believed to be the “aortas of the Chinese economic organism.” Wikipedia |
