The US has already sent drones over the border and it has been working closely with Mexican officials against the war on drugs, recognising that arms are entering Mex form the US. The US has also suffered losses in personnel from the embassy and drugs law enforcement officers. Highly unlikely that the US would invade Mexico and hardly necessary if such rumors of a North American Union hold true.
