From the Description Jerry Davis has completed the first two movements of this great symphony programming each note of each instrument into MIDI within Cakewalk's Sonar XI Producer. The software for the instruments is East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Platinum. There are an estimated 73,000 notes played in this movement. Check it out - sounds like a live orchestra! | Zen Bollix User ID: 4436859 10/05/2012 10:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, he wrote on the Cakewalk forum that he spent 4 months doing this one movement of this Beethoven song entering it in by hand (midi) like with sheet music and editing it so to try and make it sound like an orchestra (or more real) because with midi and sampled musical instruments it is hard to actually sound like a real instrument and with all of it, had to change the reflection of say like the violins perhaps every note. forum thread without trying to get in trouble here: [link to forum.cakewalk.com] It is a music forum and only a music forum and for a certain piece of softwares (more than one) from Cakewalk (a company that makes a program you can record music into). In fact if you talk about politics or religion they will ban you there. Just music folks that is all and all the new fan-dangled electronic stuff a person can do on his/her own now - or like a lot of people still do - just make it live music, the heck with all the other stuff, but still needed if you can not hire an orchestra or other musicians to actually play the parts. But then a lot of movies and special effects (sound wise) are done that way nowadays. Anyone knows - the toys! Sort of (but not really like) what Mark Twain stated about the (back then) new fan-dangled piece of equipment called the typewriter back in his day. But sometimes (or a lot of times) a musician is just not going to be able to play the darn piece of music. |
| Zen Bollix User ID: 4436859 10/05/2012 11:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I did that sort of same thing to a song I had written (ya, the same ol' 'I from 2036' song done differently in other versions by me) once but without all the computer program sampled sound libraries one can buy nowadays and put on a computer in midi and then convert it on the fly (while playing or whatever in the song) into audio (so it becomes a wave file then like real audio recorded). I just did it with a synth and without all the nuances one would have trying to make it sound anymore real, and ended up spending a month and a half on it, and said to myself - I'll just play and if it sound bad, well, that will be it. So................play the blues, I guess, maybe but that takes a lot of instrument practicing also. Money, what is that?? (making any that is) Back to a regular ol' maybe it will sound okay live band real music stuff like the blues or Rock&Roll or Pop whatever music. Get a different job to pay the bills! |
