You won't like this but most Europeans consider Americans to be very loud and rude and to us you are.
It's a cultural thing, not necessarely personal or snobism (although it may be sometimes).
Your table manners are horrible compared to how we are brought up and even if you do make an effort you talk very loud.

But we are the first you whine to when you need something. {Libya a good example}I was stationed in Europe for years, I enjoyed every minute I was there but the next time there is a war in Europe I hope we leave your smug ungrateful asses hanging. Easy there tiger, European nations are the most successful the world has seen, you are living in a a European shaped world, The Europeans have survived major wars, plagues, famines......you name it... The US is a very young country by comparison, yet to earn its wings, as it were, I think Europe is in much better shape mentally to take on any hardships that in may experience in the future, much better than a young, inexperienced nation like the US........
