can we please get a local update?
Quoting: MrAdvantageSure, I live in StL about 10 miles from the confluence of the Missouri and the Mississippi. Although the water is very high, I've seen it like this a couple times in the 23 years I've lived here. Although it's supposed to get higher, I have absolutely zero concern about the possibility of flooding. There are many levees they could open upstream of St. Louis if the possibility of severe flooding was real. Remember..we arent even at the crest yet!!! that happens thursday and friday!....please stay safe..this really has already surpassed the 1952 record flood. Im not trying to say its DOOM..I just want everyone to be prepared to head for higher ground.... Also remember...although these levees and dams have seen water like this..they have NOT ever had this duration..they are old..this is a situation to surely watch out for..for all in the heartland.
