Tattoos these days are a dime a dozen and most the ones you see that are not black and gray are shop bought tattoos by wanna be ganstas and dream to be bad asses. Why should I care what sheep think when they point out stick in my eyes when they are the ones who have logs protruding out of theirs? Well not all of them but most people who do it to extremes consider it an art form and have beautiful displays on there own body. I always thought it was cool they took it seriously enough as to use there own body for its production. It depends if they do it just to be cool of if the tattoo genuinely means something to them. But I know a lot of people with there whole body done and have seen some really cool ones. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1410141 United States 06/13/2011 06:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The body art, increasingly popular with celebrities such as Amy Winehouse and Angelina Jolie, could conceal a poor personal opinion of oneself, psychologists have found. They warn that people considering a tattoo should think extremely carefully before submitting themselves to the needle and ink. The study found that people who had three or more tattoos were likely to have low self esteem. Marie Randle, from Liverpool Hope University, who carried out the study, said: "Tattooing has become more popular in recent years, especially among young women and there is a growing fascination with the tattoos of celebrities. "The findings of this study suggest that tattoos are not just fashion accessories but driven by a wide range of motivational factors that are significantly associated with self-esteem. "This strongly suggests that people consider getting tattooed should be encouraged to question their motivation before deciding to permanently change their appearance." |

It's like you're begging to be discriminated against. You weren't alive during those days because they didn't exist Tattoos have been a part of history since before you or your parents or their parents were born, for family, tribal, and religious reasons, not just bikers and carnies. Try reading sometime, it's fun. I have tattoos and I've never being discriminated against for the parts of my skin that have ink... I've been discriminated against for being caucasian, though You openly display bigotry and xenophobia... sounds like deep-seeded psychological issues to me |

It's just ink, doesn't make the person. Quoting: Staceeeif you have visible tattoos then there's jobs you just shouldn't be working. a lot of people just don't want to see it and in general it represents lower standards of quality, particularly in retail. it hurts business. I'm sorry if you think thats discriminating but it's the way it is. Deal with it. |

Ahahhaha, freedom of speech can be so dick in the butt at times. The reason why people get tattoos? Whatever youre thinking Half of it is true, Half of it isn't. See where I am going op? All you are doing is further perpetuating that society should be judged on how they look or where they are from. What if I were to start a thread about your looks and how trashy you are? You wouldn't like being judged now would you? There is an old adage about "if you don't like something then don't look" and I'd suggest you adhere to that common sense advice. Judge ye not lest ye be judged |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1292002 United States 06/13/2011 06:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know what you mean. People expect you to treat them like some rebel criminal because they have a tattoo. I know men who want sleeves. I think it is really disgusting. It used to be really scary to see a tattooed person. You always wondered what they might do. Now you see them every time you go to a concert or wherever. It is just so cliche. I guess these people want to be scary and obnoxious but they are still mainstream. It is like they are saying that they want to be different but they can't think of how, so they just get a tattoo. I can't believe people like Anglina Jolie getting them. She is pretty weird and crazy though. It looks so bizarre to see writing all over her, like permanent crib notes. I think it is just a status thing for kids to prove how tough they are any more. It is like when kids used to get their ears pierced. Now they get everything pierced plus tattoos. I think the piercings are sort of fading out now but the tattoos are still there. I guess you can't hide them as easily. |

I have a responsibility to my business and my customers. You don't like it? Grow up. |
