What does the Vedas say about the Jews, Christians and Muslims and the middle east situation?

Good evening.

Are the airplane flying devas to be seen on this planet any time soon(5-10 yrs)?

Are they going to let them selves be broadcasted?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1299832

They are visiting all the time. We do not possess the correct vision to see them entering and leaving.

We know there are so many different spectrums of light rays, and that our eyes are capable of only seeing a narrow band of this spectrum, the white light.

Infrared, or X ray and higher we are unable to see witout the aid of telescopes.

So we can take the word of the Vedas that they can make themselves visible when they want to, but generally remain unseen.
"A sense of common interest can be fostered among individuals, if they know that they are inter-connected, are parts of one Organic System and are the sons and daughters of one Father. Here is the task of all religions; to teach people that all beings of the world are closely inter-related. Although steadfastness or firm belief in God (Nistha) according to some particular faith and eligibility of the individual is congenial for healthy spiritual growth of every individual, religious bigotry which begets enmity is condemnable, as it is against the real interest of the individual and society. Real religion teaches love for one another. Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu propagated the cult of all-embracing Divine Love which brings universal brotherhood on a transcendental plane.

 Quoting: Waiting 1428268

Jews, Christians, Muslims, it does not matter, all are capable of rendering devotional service to the lord. Those are just tags, for no soul is Jewish, or Christian, or Muslim. Those are bodily labels.

Devotional service is defined as a sincere attempt to serve the Lord.

We are currently in the age of Quarrel, and Hypocrisy called Kali-yuga. The only hope to solve any situation in the middle east is for everyone to come to the realization that they are not their bodies, they are spirit souls.

The problems of the middle east arise due to ignorance, ignorance of the real constitution of the living entity. There would be no problems if everyone accepted each other as part and parcels of the Lord.

"So we can take the word of the Vedas that they can make themselves visible when they want to, but generally remain unseen."

Can you perhaps recite a verse or script about their words?

This age, how many have passed of all those years?

Are we in the beginning, middle or end?

Are there any physical left overs from these early days when the word where written? Aircrafts, utensils, pictures?

Can you give examples of devotional services for a man in the modern world?

Excellent questions.

Here is a scripture about the Spiritual Airplanes.

[link to vedabase.net]

Srimad Bhagavatam 4.6.27

tara-hema-maharatna-
vimana-sata-sankulam
jushtam punyajana-stribhir
yatha kham satadid-ghanam

TRANSLATION

The airplanes of the heavenly denizens are bedecked with pearls, gold and many valuable jewels. The heavenly denizens are compared to clouds in the sky decorated with occasional flashes of electric lightning.

PURPORT

The airplanes described in this verse are different from the airplanes of which we have experience. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam and all the Vedic literatures, there are many descriptions of vimana, which means "airplanes." On different planets there are different kinds of airplanes.

On this gross planet earth, there are airplanes run by machine, but on other planets the airplanes are run not by machine but by mantric hymns. They are also used especially for enjoyment by the denizens of the heavenly planets so that they can go from one planet to another. On other planets which are called Siddhalokas, the denizens can travel from one planet to another without airplanes. The beautiful airplanes from the heavenly planets are compared here to the sky because they fly in the sky; the passengers are compared to the clouds. The beautiful damsels, the wives of the denizens of the heavenly planets, are compared to lightning. In summation, the airplanes with their passengers which came from higher planets to Kailasa were very pleasant to look at.

and another

[link to vedabase.net]

Srimad Bhagavatam 4.9.56

prakarair gopuragaraih
satakumbha-paricchadaih
sarvato 'lankritam srimad-
vimana-sikhara-dyubhih

TRANSLATION

In the capital city there were many palaces, city gates and surrounding walls, which were already very, very beautiful, and on this occasion all of them were decorated with golden ornaments. The domes of the city palaces glittered, as did the domes of the beautiful airplanes which hovered over the city.

PURPORT

Regarding the mention of airplanes here, it is suggested by Srimad Vijayadhvaja Tirtha that on this occasion the demigods from higher planetary systems also came in their airplanes to bestow their blessings on Dhruva Maharaja on his arrival at the capital of his father. It also appears that all the domes of the city palaces as well as the pinnacles of the airplanes were decorated with ornamental work in gold, and, being reflected by the sunshine, they were all glittering. We can observe a specific distinction between Dhruva Maharaja's time and modern days, for the airplanes in those days were made of gold, whereas at the present moment airplanes are made of base aluminium. This just gives a hint of the opulence of Dhruva Maharaja's days and the poverty of modern times.

We are currently 5012 years into Kali-Yuga, with 427,000 years left until Satya-yuga, or the Golden Age begins. We do not desire to stay here until the Golden Age happens, it is easier to get out of the material world in Kali-yuga than it is in Satya-yuga.

There is a physical battlefield left over from the time the Bhagavad-gita was spoken. There are various deities throughout India that are self manifested, without record of installation and incapability by man to carve such things with his own hands.

Devotional Service:

The Bhagavata Purana teaches nine primary forms of bhakti, as explained by Prahlada:
(1) sravana ("listening" to the scriptural stories of Krishna and his companions),
(2) kirtana ("praising," usually refers to ecstatic group singing),
(3) smaranam ("remembering" or fixing the mind on Vishnu),
(4) pada-sevana (rendering service),
(5) arcana (worshiping an image),
(6) vandana (paying homage),
(7) dasya (servitude),
(8) sakhya (friendship), and
(9) atma-nivedana(complete surrender of the self).
(from Bhagavata Purana, 7.5.23-24)

Reading the Bhagavad-gita and other Puranas and Upanisads is considered Sravana and Kirtana. This is devotional service, and by doing this you make personal advancement.

What are your thoughts on the Siddhi techniques of levitation, invisibility, knowledge of the stars, etc?

Thanks for your time!
 Quoting: SaveTheLivingEntities

So long one is on the platform of bhukti, mukti and siddhi, he is restless. He is working because he's desiring. Siddhi is specially meant for the yogis. The yogis, they want to play wonderful magic: aniimaa, laghimaa, praapti-siddhi, isitaa, vasitaa. There are eight kinds of yoga siddhis. That kind of siddhi is not recommended here.

Siddhi means to understand one's spiritual identity and work for it; that is called siddhi.

Out of million, million persons, one tries for this siddhi, perfection of life, to understand spiritual identity and to work for it. That is called siddhi.

====================================================
You say that Siddhi means to understand one's spiritual identity and work for it, but it is a very rare person who tries for it...one in a billion? This doesn't seem right to me. Could you explain? I seem to know some people who are "Siddhi"...

It all sounds very complicated to me...always has. So many levels and separated parts. And there are so many different interpretations from so many different teachers/guru/yogis. I do appreciate your responses and this thread!

Some questions: How have you become so knowledgeable about the Vedas? What is your background and education?

What, specifically, should we do? To awaken?

Is it necessary to understand the Vedas to achieve enlightenment?

Thanks again!

if there are still 427,000 years until the end of this kali yuga, does that mean its going to get worse and worse for living beings on this planet until the new golden age, and you also said it is not desirable to stay til that golden age arrives, and that its easier to leave now. how does one leave?

It is stated plainly in the Bhagavad-gita.

[link to vedabase.net]

manushyanam sahasreshu
kascid yatati siddhaye
yatatam api siddhanam
kascin mam vetti tattvatah

"Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth."

There are various grades of men, and out of many thousands, one may be sufficiently interested in transcendental realization to try to know what is the self, what is the body, and what is the Absolute Truth. Generally mankind is simply engaged in the animal propensities, namely eating, sleeping, defending and mating, and hardly anyone is interested in transcendental knowledge. The first six chapters of the Gita are meant for those who are interested in transcendental knowledge, in understanding the self, the Superself and the process of realization by jnana-yoga, dhyana-yoga and discrimination of the self from matter. However, Krishna can be known only by persons who are in Krishna consciousness. Other transcendentalists may achieve impersonal Brahman realization, for this is easier than understanding Krishna. Krishna is the Supreme Person, but at the same time He is beyond the knowledge of Brahman and Paramatma. The yogis and jnanis are confused in their attempts to understand Krishna. Although the greatest of the impersonalists, Sripada Sankaracarya, has admitted in his Gita commentary that Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, his followers do not accept Krishna as such, for it is very difficult to know Krishna, even though one has transcendental realization of impersonal Brahman.

Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the cause of all causes, the primeval Lord Govinda. Isvarah paramah krishnah sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah/ anadir adir govindah sarva-karana-karanam. It is very difficult for the nondevotees to know Him. Although nondevotees declare that the path of bhakti, or devotional service, is very easy, they cannot practice it. If the path of bhakti is so easy, as the nondevotee class of men proclaim, then why do they take up the difficult path? Actually the path of bhakti is not easy. The so-called path of bhakti practiced by unauthorized persons without knowledge of bhakti may be easy, but when it is practiced factually according to the rules and regulations, the speculative scholars and philosophers fall away from the path. Srila Rupa Gosvami writes in his Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu (1.2.101):

sruti-smriti-puranadi-
pancaratra-vidhim vina
aikantiki harer bhaktir
utpatayaiva kalpate

"Devotional service of the Lord that ignores the authorized Vedic literatures like the Upanishads, Puranas and Narada-pancaratra is simply an unnecessary disturbance in society."

It is not possible for the Brahman-realized impersonalist or the Paramatma-realized yogi to understand Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead as the son of mother Yasoda or the charioteer of Arjuna. Even the great demigods are sometimes confused about Krishna (muhyanti yat surayah). Mam tu veda na kascana: "No one knows Me as I am," the Lord says. And if one does know Him, then sa mahatma su-durlabhah. "Such a great soul is very rare." Therefore unless one practices devotional service to the Lord, one cannot know Krishna as He is (tattvatah), even though one is a great scholar or philosopher. Only the pure devotees can know something of the inconceivable transcendental qualities in Krishna, in the cause of all causes, in His omnipotence and opulence, and in His wealth, fame, strength, beauty, knowledge and renunciation, because Krishna is benevolently inclined to His devotees. He is the last word in Brahman realization, and the devotees alone can realize Him as He is. Therefore it is said:

atah sri-krishna-namadi
na bhaved grahyam indriyaih
sevonmukhe hi jihvadau
svayam eva sphuraty adah

"No one can understand Krishna as He is by the blunt material senses. But He reveals Himself to the devotees, being pleased with them for their transcendental loving service unto Him." (Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu 1.2.234)

It may sound complicated, but it is quite simple once we surrender ourselves to the fact that the Vedas ARE revealed knowledge.

How am I so knowledgeable of Vedic knowledge?

I could not tell you, it must be the mercy of the Lord somewhere. I am a 24 year old young man who has come in to contact with something that has changed my life, and awoken an inner fire for truth.

I have come into contact with great shining beacons of vedic knowledge, such as Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Swami Prabhupada and I have absorbed his teachings within my heart.

I am a most fallen soul, but for some reason or another the Lord has decided to impart upon me this capability to understand Vedic knowledge without second guessing it.

Is it necessary to understand the Vedas? No. It is only necessary to understand yourself, and the Lord.

I grew up a large portion of my life NOT understanding the Vedas. I grew up a very average american child, except that I was a lacto-vegetarian. I played Video games, rode bicycles, watched football, went to the movies.

The last few years of my life has been a large awakening for me. What have I done differently? I have only put a sincere effort toward trying to understand the statements of the Vedas.

I accept the statements of the Vedas, that one can become perfect, by dovetailing himself with perfection. I do not possess any perfect qualities, but by associating with perfect knowledge, I make myself perfect.

(Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhava Maharaja )

"If one loves Krishna, he must love Lord Jesus also. And if one perfectly loves Jesus he must love Krishna too. If he says, "Why shall I love Krishna? I shall love Jesus," then he has no knowledge. And if one says, "Why shall I love Jesus? I shall love Krishna", then he has no knowledge either. If one understands Krishna, then he will understand Jesus. If one understands Jesus, you'll understand Krishna too"

Someone should pour molten lead into your mouth, and cut off your fingers for speaking of such things. So says your traditional knowledge. Why are you disseminating this information.

Re: Full, Clear, Concise Answers given in the context of >>Vedic Knowledge<<. This Is Vedic Knowledge. Ask me any question?
if there are still 427,000 years until the end of this kali yuga, does that mean its going to get worse and worse for living beings on this planet until the new golden age, and you also said it is not desirable to stay til that golden age arrives, and that its easier to leave now. how does one leave?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1428445

Unfortunately yes, it does. Kali-yuga is characterized as the age of Quarrel and Hypocrisy. There is a 10,000 year golden age period within kali-yuga, which we are currently within now.

During kali-yuga the following characteristics will be present, and we can already see them now.

In relation to rulers

Rulers will become unreasonable: they will levy taxes unfairly.

Rulers will no longer see it as their duty to promote spirituality, or to protect their subjects: they will become a danger to the world.

People will start migrating, seeking countries where wheat and barley form the staple food source.

In human relationships

Avarice and wrath will be common. Humans will openly display animosity towards each other.

Ignorance of dharma (duty) will occur.

People will have thoughts of murder with no justification and will see nothing wrong in that.

Lust will be viewed as socially acceptable and sexual intercourse will be seen as the central requirement of life.

Sin will increase exponentially, whilst virtue will fade and cease to flourish.

People will take vows and break them soon after.

People will become addicted to intoxicating drinks and drugs.

Gurus will no longer be respected and their students will attempt to injure them. Their teachings will be insulted, and followers of Kama will wrest control of the mind from all human beings. Brahmins will not be learned or honoured, Kshatriyas will not be brave, Vaishyas will not be just in their dealings and Shudras will be allotted unreasonable 'caste-based' duties which they will avoid.

The Brahma Vaivarta Purana mentions a ten thousand year period, starting from the traditional dating of the Kali Yuga epoch of February 18, 3102 BC/BCE, during which bhakti yogis will be present.

That time is now, and the bhakti-yogis of the planet will remain here for another 5,000 years.

In order to leave this material world during Kali-Yuga, we must do only one thing.

Chant the holy names of the Lord.

That is the only requirement of this age.

By chanting these sacred sanskrit mantras, we are directly associating with the Sound Incarnation of God.

The reason is that God is non different from his name. By chanting his name, we are directly associating with the Lord, and that is how you gain Mercy to leave this material universe.

You have not studied the vedas at all. I am speaking from the greatest more in depth authorities on the Vedas, and you think your whimisical musings over the various Vedas, which may or may not have been presented correctly, could give you a grasp of the deep philosophy that takes one a lifetime to fully absorb?

There is no manipulating peasantry. Everyone is placed according to their qualities. If you display propensities toward being an administrator/intellectual (brahmana), a protector of the people (kshatriya), a merchant (vaishya) or a laborer (sudra). These are not FORCED. They are placed according to the qualities of the individual.

Have you ever attended college or applied for military service?

You get a placement test, to determine how far along your path you are, and then it is up to an administrator to ensure you get the proper training to catch up to speed?

That is varnasrama dharma, it is already ongoing right now. The problem is we have many sudras or laborers trying to run the world.

The goal of the Gaudiya-vaishnav movement is to create more Vedic Brahmanas who can help adminstrate the affairs of man kind and ensure that we become successful.

In regard to a societal body, the brahmanas are the head and brain of society.

The kshatriyas or protectors of peace are considered to be the arms of society.

The arms are required to protect the body from all harm, but the arms must act according to the directions of the head and brain. That is a natural arrangement made by the supreme order, for it is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gitä that four social orders or castes, namely the brähmanas, the kshatriyas, the vaishyas and the südras, are set up according to quality and work done by them.

You may be speaking of the Vedic Civilizations of the last few thousand years, but they have been degraded since Satya yuga, millions of years ago.

(Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhava Maharaja )

It is called the Maha mantra. Maha means greatest.

All the mantras of the Vedas can be condensed down to this one Mantra. That is why it is called the Maha mantra.

There are many different renditions to listen to.

I only study history as a hobby, and you are not genuine. You are spouting a watered down version hocus-pocus weapons grade BULLSHIT. Anyone can tell from far away with poor eyesight that you are are fool if you have spent your life in the silliness of defunct population control mythology.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1309528

I am a fool? How has your knowledge benefited you at all? Your false knowledge has only mislead you down the path to thinking that the truth of the Vedas is false.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was the GREATEST authority of Vedanta.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

He propounded the greatest meanings of the Vedas.

You apparently have come into contact with some atheistic school of Vedanta.

I have only studied the veda from an objective historical perspective. It was a system that was (still is) used to manipulate the peasantry into working extremely hard all their lives for zero gain, thinking it would come in the after-life and later on in the 'next' life. The people who developed this particular religion also created the karmic doctrine for similar purposes. I feel as though you are bastardizing a practice that was once taken extremely seriously and now is completely obsolete to any critically thinking logical person.

My knowledge that I might or might not have has benefited me extremely well in my own personal opinion. I have have been all the way.

Then you are done here, you are not interested in the most authoritative Vedic philosophers in the world.

All these men were much greater Vedic scholars, and sanskrit scholars than you ever dreamed of being.

I am not so conceited that I think I know more than the accepted authoritative figures of Vedanta.

All of these men have wrote more commentary and books on Vedic literature than you could hope to achieve in a million life times.
