Full, Clear, Concise Answers given in the context of >>Vedic Knowledge<<. This Is Vedic Knowledge. Ask me any question?
Many people associate the Vedas with "Hinduism". But the term or word Hinduism or Hindu will not be found in the Vedas.

As far as the Vedas are concerned, the Vedas are not for "Hindus" but for all living entities. This is the very first thing to be understood.

What you find in the Vedas is sanaatana dharma (suh-nah-tuh-nuh duh-arm). Sanaatana means Eternal and dharma means occupation.

There are 2 kinds of eternal, spiritual energies.

The Infinitesimal living entity, and the Infinite God.

The Individual Soul of a living entity is Infinitesimal, while the Super Soul is Infinite, but they are both Eternal.

The living entity is sanaatana [eternal], God is sanaatana, and there is sanaatana-dharma. Sanaatana-dharma is meant for all living entities, not just the so-called Hindus.

Hinduism, this "ism," that "ism"—these are all misconception. Historically, sanaatana-dharma was followed regularly in India, and Indians were called "Hindus" by the Muslims.

The Muslims saw that the Indians lived on the other side of the River Sind, and the Muslims pronounced Sind as Hind. Therefore they called India "Hindustan" and the people who lived there "Hindus." But the word Hindu has no reference in the Vedic literature.

Now that sanatana-dharma, or Vedic dharma, is being distorted, not being obeyed, not being carried out properly, it has come to be known as Hinduism.

But that is a freak understanding; that is not a real understanding.

We have to study sanatana-dharma as it is described in the Bhagavad-gitaa and other Vedic literatures; then we'll understand what Vedic religion is.

Here is the task of all religions; to teach people that all beings of the world are closely inter-related. The 144,000 Souls has nothing to do with Vedic knowledge.

Every Soul has a divine destiny to attain the Spiritual World, which is Full of Eternity, Knowledge, and Bliss.

Here's a question: What is ego?
 Quoting: OmarEastwind

False ego means accepting this body as oneself. When one understands that he is not his body and is spirit soul, he comes to his real ego. Ego is there. False ego is condemned, but not real ego.

In the Vedic literature (Brhad-aaranyaka Upanishad 1.4.10) it is said, ahaà brahmäsmi: I am Brahman, I am spirit.

This "I am," the sense of self, also exists in the liberated stage of self-realization. This sense of "I am" is ego, but when the sense of "I am" is applied to this false body it is false ego.

When the sense of self is applied to reality, that is real ego. There are some philosophers who say we should give up our ego, but we cannot give up our ego, because ego means identity. We ought, of course, to give up the false identification with the body.

One more, if you don't mind: What is the relationship between the body and the Akasha?
 Quoting: OmarEastwind

Akasha (Akasa) is translated as "Sky" or basically Outer Space.

[link to vedabase.net]

Our body has no relationship to the Sky. Perhaps the term you are thinking of is something else?

in other words all paths lead to god. it is the OPPOSITE of how it has been translated. and of course, there are a ton of vedas...for differnt purposes and written at different times. You have to know who you are reading, which interpretation and which lineage they are from. Vaita or Advaita?

don't give up on the vedas - just understand that like most holy books, they were written by men, translated by men etc...but, there are still some - where the distortion has been kept to a minimum!

The Vedas do not teach of Akashic records. All rememberance and forgetfulness are supplied by the Super Soul, who resides in the heart of every living entity. The Super Soul knows our every desire, and places us within the universe at the appropriate time and place.

The Vedic hierarchy is that there is only One Supreme Personality of Godhead, and that all the administrative entities of the Universe are subordinate to him.

Samyama means restraint, or annihilation. It has to do with controlling the senses.

By restraint of senses, or annihilation of material senses, we can leave the Material Sky or Akasha and enter into the Infinite Spiritual Sky or Spiritual Akasha.

You are speaking of Ayurveda, which was given to us by an Incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is the Vedas which describe how to use Food for Medicine.

According to Ayurveda, the ancient medical system of the Vedas, given by the Lord in His form of Dhanvantari, cow’s milk is the most beneficial food. Lord Krishna Himself especially loves food offerings prepared with milk products.

From ghee (clarified butter), butter, yogurt, buttermilk, and of course milk itself, so many tasty and healthy preparations can be made. Even in our degraded Kali-yuga, the present Age of Quarrel, the cow’s by products are still very popular. Whether it’s milk on their cereals, cream in their coffee, ice-cream, yogurt, or lux-ury leather seats in their cars, most people still benefit from mother cow. Sadly, father bull, the symbol of religion, is cruelly slaughtered, because ox power is one of those so-called primitive practices that has been replaced by the tractor.

This is not entirely correct either.

What the Vedas speak about is called Varnashram-dharma,

Varnashram-dharma is the division of society, socially and spiritually, into four varnas or occupations (Administrative, Protective, Merchant and Laborer) and four ashrams or spiritual schools (student, househoulder, renounciate and sannyäsa).

To maintain proper social order and help the citizens gradually progress toward the goal of life—namely spiritual understanding—the principles of varnashram-dharma must be accepted.

Everyone in society falls into one of these categories, and we have inherent qualities that allude to what stage we are on, because we are all on different stages of life.

But the point is that you are not BORN into a caste, but you are qualitatively selected, the same way when one enters into the US Military he has to take the ASVAB which determines where at in the service he will do his duty according to his propensities at the time.

Yes. The Universe is divided into 14 planetary systems and all of them have life.

The Devas, who are the administrative beings of the universe, traverse the universe in all sorts of flying vehicles called Vimanas.

Allow me to quote from the Srimad-bhagavatam.

Srimad Bhagavatam 2.9.13

Sanskrit:
bhrajishnubhir yah parito virajate
lasad-vimanavalibhir mahatmanam
vidyotamanah pramadottamadyubhih
savidyud abhravalibhir yatha nabhah

Translation:

The Vaikuntha planets are also surrounded by various airplanes (Vimana translates as Airplane), all glowing and brilliantly situated. These airplanes belong to the great mahatmas or devotees of the Lord. The ladies are as beautiful as lightning because of their celestial complexions, and all these combined together appear just like the sky decorated with both clouds and lightning.

Purport:

It appears that in the Vaikuntha planets there are also airplanes brilliantly glowing, and they are occupied by the great devotees of the Lord with ladies of celestial beauty as brilliant as lightning. As there are airplanes, so there must be different types of carriages like airplanes, but they may not be driven machines, as we have experience in this world. Because everything is of the same nature of eternity, bliss and knowledge, the airplanes and carriages are of the same quality as Brahman. Although there is nothing except Brahman, one should not mistakenly think that there is only void and no variegatedness. Thinking like that is due to a poor fund of knowledge; otherwise no one would have such a misconception of voidness in Brahman. As there are airplanes, ladies and gentlemen, so there must be cities and houses and everything else just suitable to the particular planets. One should not carry the ideas of imperfection from this world to the transcendental world and not take into consideration the nature of the atmosphere, as completely free from the influence of time, etc., as described previously.
"A sense of common interest can be fostered among individuals, if they know that they are inter-connected, are parts of one Organic System and are the sons and daughters of one Father. Here is the task of all religions; to teach people that all beings of the world are closely inter-related.  Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1424050

Yes, this is possible.

The body, which is like the outer dress of the soul, is composed of material elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether.

Within the material body, is the subtle astral body which is composed of Mind, Ego, and Intelligence.

But even in the Astral Realm you are subjected to the material pains of birth, old age, disease, and death.

An advanced yogi can go anywhere he desires without mechanical help, for a yogi can place his mind and intelligence within the air circulating inside his body, and by practicing the art of breath control he can mix that air with the air that blows all over the universe outside his body. With the help of this universal air, a yogi can travel to any planet and get a body suitable for its atmosphere. We can understand this process by comparing it to the electronic transmission of radio messages. With radio transmitters, sound waves produced at a certain station can travel all over the earth in seconds.

The mind, intelligence and false ego are always engaged in an attempt to dominate material nature. According to that subtle astral body, one attains a gross body to enjoy the objects of one’s desires. According to the activities of the present body, one prepares another subtle body. And according to the subtle body, one attains another gross body. This is the process of material existence. However, when one is spiritually situated and does not desire a gross or subtle body, he attains his original spiritual body.

The Vedas are attempting to bring us out of this conception of trying to get more material bodies over and over again, and to eventually attain a body that is FULL of Knowledge, Eternity, and Bliss.
"A sense of common interest can be fostered among individuals, if they know that they are inter-connected, are parts of one Organic System and are the sons and daughters of one Father. Masturbation is considered a waste of energy, you will never be satisfied by sex desire.

Sex is like a mosquito bite. You’ll never satisfy it by scratching. I don’t care if you’re up to your ears in sex—you’ll never be satisfied.

The goal of life is to attain bliss from realizing your eternal position.
"A sense of common interest can be fostered among individuals, if they know that they are inter-connected, are parts of one Organic System and are the sons and daughters of one Father. Here is the task of all religions; to teach people that all beings of the world are closely inter-related. Although steadfastness or firm belief in God (Nistha) according to some particular faith and eligibility of the individual is congenial for healthy spiritual growth of every individual, religious bigotry which begets enmity is condemnable, as it is against the real interest of the individual and society. Real religion teaches love for one another. Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu propagated the cult of all-embracing Divine Love which brings universal brotherhood on a transcendental plane.

The Language of the Vedas

Sanskrit is known as devavaani, “the language of the gods.” The name Sanskrit means “joined together, arranged, decorated”. This hints at Sanskrit's grammar being exactly regulated. The Vedas are revealed in Sanskrit, and when Krishna came to earth five thousand years ago, he spoke in Sanskrit. Today, the language is used by followers of Vedic culture all over the world as the medium for praising the Lord and his devotees.

Right at the beginning of the material creation the Vedic wisdom was spoken by Lord Vishnu (God in his creating aspect) directly to Lord Brahma, the creator of this universe. Brahma himself systematically passed this knowledge on to his descendants, thereby creating the Vedas. This original language of the Vedas was then adopted by the devas, the higher subtle living beings which are entrusted with the administration of the universe. Thus, it was called deva-nagari, the language of the devas. It is the original language of the universe.

The Vedic tradition informs us that human beings in former ages were physically and intellectually by far more able than nowadays. Knowledge was passed on by oral reception since the disciples were able to remember everything by hearing it once. Thus, no writing was necessary. But at the dawn of the present age — the kali-yuga, or “age of quarrel” — human mankind degraded more and more and gradually lost all good qualities. The duration of life decreased, and with the loss of the keen remembrance the traditional system of acquiring knowledge ceased to be applicable. In order to prevent its decay, the Vedic wisdom had to be conserved in written form. This happened about 5000 years ago by the divine incarnation Shrila Vyasadeva. He compiled the presently existing Vedic literature, namely the four Vedas, the Upanishads, the Puranas and the Mahabharata. Thus, he created no new knowledge but rather tried to preserve the original wisdom of human mankind for the oncoming generations.

At that time, devanagari was the language of the whole civilized population of the earth. But due to lack of training and careless pronunciation, the uneducated people began to develop numerous dialects. Before, such lingual alienation had been carefully avoided since it was well-known that the material and spiritual power of the language greatly depends on its purity.

Following this tradition, Sanskrit is the original language of the Vedas. They were transmitted directly from the spiritual world at the dawn of creation. Therefore, their language bears the power to connect the reciter and the receptors of mantras and shlokas with the eternal spiritual reality — especially if the mantras contain one of the numerous names of God. Consequently, Sanskrit produces a transcendental sound vibration which is able to liberate the living entity from the material existence called samsara, the circle of repeated births and deaths.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krsna says:

aksharanam a-karo ’smi

Among letters, “A” is I.

“A” is a special letter, not because it comes first in our alphabet. After all, Krsna is speaking in Sanskrit to Arjuna, who is also a Sanskrit speaker. They are talking about the letter “A” in Sanskrit.

Still, when you know why the letter A is special in Sanskrit, you get to wondering if its not the same reason why the letter comes first in our alphabet and in so many (maybe all) alphabets.

Why is “A” so special?

Sanskrit is a “syllabic” language. Japanese is too. I guess most of the Asian family of languages might be. What does it mean to be “syllabic”? It means that the root sounds (the “letters”) are always single syllables in and of themselves. What is a syllable? It is a vowel sound. What then are consonants? They are con- (with) sonnance (the sound), i.e. they are sounds that appear with the vowel. They shape the beginning (or end in some languages) of the vowel. “K” for example, is a consonant. You cannot say “K” by itself. If you try to it will either comes out of your mouth as “kay” or “Kkkih.” Whatever sound you make, it will have a vowel in it. Because the main part of the sound is the vowel, and the consonant is the decoration shaping the outside of the vowel.

Of all letters, Vowels represent God.

Why?

Because no sounds can be made without vowels. All the other letters are useless without vowels. All the other consonants are like “so many zeros” and the vowel is like “a one placed in front of the zeros.” We cannot exist without God – in the same way that sound cannot exist without a vowel. Consonants do exist, but their exists is dependant upon their relationship to a vowel. In the same way, you and I really do exist, but our existence is dependant upon our relationship to God. Because God exists, we exist.

What is our role? A consonant enhances the vowel. That is our role. We are to enhance God’s reality. We are to be of service.

Of all the vowels, why “A”?

A is the first of the vowels.

Why?

Because it is, according to Sanskrit thought at least, the first, most natural sound to come out of our mouth.

The Sanskrit alphabet is beautiful because it illustrates this dependence of consonants upon vowels. In Sanskrit every syllable is a vertical line. This vertical line is the “A” sound. The consonants are curves and other shapes attached horizontally to the vertical line. Other vowels besides “A” are vertical amendments to the basic “A” vertical line.

Thus the Sanskrit alphabet itself depicts the sambandha-tattva – the truth of the relationship between the individual soul and the absolute soul.

"Very good answer regarding ego...thank you. My second question has been with me for many years, after reading a book on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. He said one should perform "samyama" on the relationship between the body and akasha...I've never understood that.
Quoting: OmarEastwind

"Samyama means restraint, or annihilation. It has to do with controlling the senses.

By restraint of senses, or annihilation of material senses, we can leave the Material Sky or Akasha and enter into the Infinite Spiritual Sky or Spiritual Akasha".

So, would meditation be "performing samyama"? Deep meditation, leading to the annihilation of thought, allows one to leave the Material Akasha, and enter the Spiritual Akasha...or, said another way, move from the manifest to the unmanifest?

Back to Patanjali's words..."perform samyama on the relationship between body and akasha" could mean: meditate deeply, leaving the body (material) and experience the Spiritual (akasha)?

What are your thoughts on the Siddhi techniques of levitation, invisibility, knowledge of the stars, etc?

Thanks for your time!

So long one is on the platform of bhukti, mukti and siddhi, he is restless. He is working because he's desiring. Siddhi is specially meant for the yogis. The yogis, they want to play wonderful magic: aniimaa, laghimaa, praapti-siddhi, isitaa, vasitaa. There are eight kinds of yoga siddhis. That kind of siddhi is not recommended here.

Siddhi means to understand one's spiritual identity and work for it; that is called siddhi.

Out of million, million persons, one tries for this siddhi, perfection of life, to understand spiritual identity and to work for it. That is called siddhi.

Time Calculated According to the Vedas

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.1

maitreya uvaca
caramah sad-viseshanam
aneko 'samyutah sada
paramanuh sa vijneyo
nrinam aikya-bhramo yatah

TRANSLATION

The material manifestation's ultimate particle, which is indivisible and not formed into a body, is called the atom. It exists always as an invisible identity, even after the dissolution of all forms. The material body is but a combination of such atoms, but it is misunderstood by the common man.

PURPORT

The atomic description of the Srimad-Bhagavatam is almost the same as the modern science of atomism, and this is further described in the Paramanu-vada of Kanada. In modern science also, the atom is accepted as the ultimate indivisible particle of which the universe is composed. Srimad-Bhagavatam is the full text of all descriptions of knowledge, including the theory of atomism. The atom is the minute subtle form of eternal time.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.2

sata eva padarthasya
svarupavasthitasya yat
kaivalyam parama-mahan
avisesho nirantarah

TRANSLATION

Atoms are the ultimate state of the manifest universe. When they stay in their own forms without forming different bodies, they are called the unlimited oneness. There are certainly different bodies in physical forms, but the atoms themselves form the complete manifestation.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.3

evam kalo 'py anumitah
saukshmye sthaulye ca sattama
samsthana-bhuktya bhagavan
avyakto vyakta-bhug vibhuh

TRANSLATION

One can estimate time by measuring the movement of the atomic combination of bodies. Time is the potency of the almighty Personality of Godhead, Hari, who controls all physical movement although He is not visible in the physical world.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.4

sa kalah paramanur vai
yo bhunkte paramanutam
sato 'visesha-bhug yas tu
sa kalah paramo mahan

TRANSLATION

Atomic time is measured according to its covering a particular atomic space. That time which covers the unmanifest aggregate of atoms is called the great time.

PURPORT

Time and space are two correlative terms. Time is measured in terms of its covering a certain space of atoms. Standard time is calculated in terms of the movement of the sun. The time covered by the sun in passing over an atom is calculated as atomic time. The greatest time of all covers the entire existence of the nondual manifestation. All the planets rotate and cover space, and space is calculated in terms of atoms. Each planet has its particular orbit for rotating, in which it moves without deviation, and similarly the sun has its orbit. The complete calculation of the time of creation, maintenance and dissolution, measured in terms of the circulation of the total planetary systems until the end of creation, is known as the supreme kala.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.5

anur dvau paramanu syat
trasarenus trayah smritah
jalarka-rasmy-avagatah
kham evanupatann agat

TRANSLATION

The division of gross time is calculated as follows: two atoms make one double atom, and three double atoms make one hexatom. This hexatom is visible in the sunshine which enters through the holes of a window screen. One can clearly see that the hexatom goes up towards the sky.

PURPORT

The atom is described as an invisible particle, but when six such atoms combine together, they are called a trasarenu, and this is visible in the sunshine pouring through the holes of a window screen.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.6

trasarenu-trikam bhunkte
yah kalah sa trutih smritah
sata-bhagas tu vedhah syat
tais tribhis tu lavah smritah

TRANSLATION

The time duration needed for the integration of three trasarenus is called a truti, and one hundred trutis make one vedha. Three vedhas make one lava.

PURPORT

It is calculated that if a second is divided into 1687.5 parts, each part is the duration of a truti, which is the time occupied in the integration of eighteen atomic particles. Such a combination of atoms into different bodies creates the calculation of material time. The sun is the central point for calculating all different durations.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.7

nimeshas tri-lavo jneya
amnatas te trayah kshanah
kshanan panca viduh kashtham
laghu ta dasa panca ca

TRANSLATION

The duration of time of three lavas is equal to one nimesha, the combination of three nimeshas makes one kshana, five kshanas combined together make one kashtha, and fifteen kashthas make one laghu.

PURPORT

By calculation it is found that one laghu is equal to two minutes. The atomic calculation of time in terms of Vedic wisdom may be converted into present time with this understanding.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.8

laghuni vai samamnata
dasa panca ca nadika
te dve muhurtah praharah
shad yamah sapta va nrinam

TRANSLATION

Fifteen laghus make one nadika, which is also called a danda. Two dandas make one muhurta, and six or seven dandas make one fourth of a day or night, according to human calculation.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.10

yamas catvaras catvaro
martyanam ahani ubhe
pakshah panca-dasahani
suklah krishnas ca manada

TRANSLATION

It is calculated that there are four praharas, which are also called yamas, in the day and four in the night of the human being. Similarly, fifteen days and nights are a fortnight, and there are two fortnights, white and black, in a month.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.11

tayoh samuccayo masah
pitrinam tad ahar-nisam
dvau tav rituh shad ayanam
dakshinam cottaram divi

TRANSLATION

The aggregate of two fortnights is one month, and that period is one complete day and night for the Pita planets. Two of such months comprise one season, and six months comprise one complete movement of the sun from south to north.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.12

ayane cahani prahur
vatsaro dvadasa smritah
samvatsara-satam nrinam
paramayur nirupitam

TRANSLATION

Two solar movements make one day and night of the demigods, and that combination of day and night is one complete calendar year for the human being. The human being has a duration of life of one hundred years.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.14

samvatsarah parivatsara
ida-vatsara eva ca
anuvatsaro vatsaras ca
viduraivam prabhashyate

TRANSLATION

There are five different names for the orbits of the sun, moon, stars and luminaries in the firmament, and they each have their own samvatsara.

PURPORT

The subject matters of physics, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, time and space dealt with in the above verses of Srimad-Bhagavatam are certainly very interesting to students of the particular subject, but as far as we are concerned, we cannot explain them very thoroughly in terms of technical knowledge. The subject is summarized by the statement that above all the different branches of knowledge is the supreme control of kala, the plenary representation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Nothing exists without Him, and therefore everything, however wonderful it may appear to our meager knowledge, is but the work of the magical wand of the Supreme Lord. As far as time is concerned, we beg to subjoin herewith a table of timings in terms of the modern clock.

One truti - 8/13,500 second
One vedha - 8/135 second
One lava - 8/45 second
One nimesha - 8/15 second
One kshana - 8/5 second
One kashtha - 8 seconds
One laghu - 2 minutes
One danda - 30 minutes
One prahara - 3 hours
One day - 12 hours
One night - 12 hours
One paksha - 15 days

Two pakshas comprise one month, and twelve months comprise one calendar year, or one full orbit of the sun. A human being is expected to live up to one hundred years. That is the way of the controlling measure of eternal time.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.18

maitreya uvaca
kritam treta dvaparam ca
kalis ceti catur-yugam
divyair dvadasabhir varshaih
savadhanam nirupitam

TRANSLATION

Maitreya said: O Vidura, the four millenniums are called the Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali yugas. The aggregate number of years of all of these combined is equal to twelve thousand years of the demigods.

PURPORT

The years of the demigods are equal to 360 years of humankind. As will be clarified in the subsequent verses, 12,000 of the demigods' years, including the transitional periods which are called yuga-sandhyas, comprise the total of the aforementioned four millenniums. Thus the aggregate of the above-mentioned four millenniums is 4,320,000 years.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.19

catvari trini dve caikam
kritadishu yatha-kramam
sankhyatani sahasrani
dvi-gunani satani ca

TRANSLATION

The duration of the Satya millennium equals 4,800 years of the years of the demigods; the duration of the Dvapara millennium equals 2,400 years; and that of the Kali millennium is 1,200 years of the demigods.

PURPORT

As aforementioned, one year of the demigods is equal to 360 years of the human beings. The duration of the Satya-yuga is therefore 4,800 x 360, or 1,728,000 years. The duration of the Treta-yuga is 3,600 x 360, or 1,296,000 years. The duration of the Dvapara-yuga is 2,400 x 360, or 864,000 years. And the last, the Kali-yuga, is 1,200 x 360, or 432,000 years.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.22

tri-lokya yuga-sahasram
bahir abrahmano dinam
tavaty eva nisa tata
yan nimilati visva-srik

TRANSLATION

Outside of the three planetary systems [Svarga, Martya and Patala], the four yugas multiplied by one thousand comprise one day on the planet of Brahma. A similar period comprises a night of Brahma, in which the creator of the universe goes to sleep.

PURPORT

When Brahma goes to sleep in his nighttime, the three planetary systems below Brahmaloka are all submerged in the water of devastation. In his sleeping condition, Brahma dreams about the Garbhodakasayi Vishnu and takes instruction from the Lord for the rehabilitation of the devastated area of space.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.34

yad ardham ayushas tasya
parardham abhidhiyate
purvah parardho 'pakranto
hy aparo 'dya pravartate

TRANSLATION

The one hundred years of Brahma's life are divided into two parts, the first half and the second half. The first half of the duration of Brahma's life is already over, and the second half is now current.

PURPORT

The duration of one hundred years in the life of Brahma has already been discussed in many places in this work, and it is described in Bhagavad-gita (8.17) also. Fifty years of the life of Brahma are already over, and fifty years are yet to be completed; then, for Brahma also, death is inevitable.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.11.38

kalo 'yam dvi-parardhakhyo
nimesha upacaryate
avyakritasyanantasya
hy anader jagad-atmanah

TRANSLATION

The duration of the two parts of Brahma's life, as above mentioned, is calculated to be equal to one nimesha [less than a second] for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is unchanging and unlimited and is the cause of all causes of the universe.

PURPORT

The great sage Maitreya has given a considerable description of the time of different dimensions, beginning from the atom up to the duration of the life of Brahma. Now he attempts to give some idea of the time of the unlimited Personality of Godhead. He just gives a hint of His unlimited time by the standard of the life of Brahma. The entire duration of the life of Brahma is calculated to be less than a second of the Lord's time, and it is explained in the Brahma-samhita (5.48)

The total duration of Lord Brahmas life is 311 trillion, 40 billion years, and thus that is the duration of Creation.

"If one loves Krishna, he must love Lord Jesus also. And if one perfectly loves Jesus he must love Krishna too. If he says, "Why shall I love Krishna? I shall love Jesus," then he has no knowledge. And if one says, "Why shall I love Jesus? I shall love Krishna", then he has no knowledge either. If one understands Krishna, then he will understand Jesus. If one understands Jesus, you'll understand Krishna too"

Re: Full, Clear, Concise Answers given in the context of >>Vedic Knowledge<<. This Is Vedic Knowledge. Ask me any question?
very interesting. so what is beyond riddhis and siddhis and how do you obtain it?

can you tell us more about the 1000 armed avatar of lord krishna in mahabharat battleground

Beyond siddhi is Bhakti, in which one develops their Spiritual Body that is comprised of Eternity, Knowledge, and Bliss.

Our current body is covered by ignorance, thus we are born into this world entirely forgetful. It is our duty to purify our existence so we can develop a body that is FULL of Knowledge, FULL of Bliss, and FULL of Eternity, existing forever in that state.

That is more desirable than any Material Mystic power, because we would still be subject to death.

The vishva-rüpa (Universal Form) was shown to Arjuna to warn those rascals who claim, "I am God." Arjuna asked to see the vishva-rüpa so that in the future we may have some criterion by which to test rascals who claim to be God. In other words, if someone says, "I am God," we can simply reply, "If you are God, please show me your vishva-rüpa." And we can rest assured that such rascals cannot display this form.
