In the Vedic scriptures, the cow is described as a mother. Therefore she is a mother for all time; it is not, as some rascals say, that in the Vedic age she was a mother but she is not in this age. If Shastra is an authority, the cow is a mother always; she was a mother in the Vedic age, and she is a mother in this age also.
 Quoting: SaveTheLivingEntities

OP - I recall, having done a search a few years back regarding the "Sacred Cow" that some Hindu researchers discovered an error in translation out of Ancient Sanskrit.

In short, the word for "Cow" is also the word for "Light" so when Krishna is described as the keeper of the Cow, he is actually the keeper of the light. And the light is the Sacred Mother.

If this is true, this brings Vedic teachings into a more universal understanding, as research into western religion, particularly Christianity (Krish-tianity?) shows that Satan/Lucifer is, in fact, female or "Mother" and that Jesus associates with Venus, the "Bright and Morning Star" so he would be, like Krishna, a "Keeper of the Light".

What do you make of any of that?

Also, how old is Rama Empire? I could probably find out on my own, but I believe it is older than recorded civilization or, in otherwords, pre-deluvial.

Was there anything spiritually significant about Krishna's Death? Did he die in the previous age, or in the current? Would it make sense to you, in the age of Kali, that Krishna might come back and offer himself as a sacrifice for Mankind's fallen ways in this age?
 Quoting: Greg_B.

"Hindu" worshipers I do not accept. I get my knowledge from Bhakti Yogis who are able to penetrate deepest into the understandings of the Vedas.

The Word for cow in Sanskrit is "Go"

[link to vedabase.net]

It has been used many many times in all sorts of scripture in this context.

There is no context where "Light" and "Cow" can be replaced.

We have all the information on Krishna, we do not need to speculate whether he was a keeper of the light.

Krishna is the origin of all origins. The blinding glare from brahma-jyoti are the effulgent rays emanating from his body.

He resides in his personal abode, Goloka (Go means cow and loka means world) World of the Cows.

Goloka is beyond the coverings of the material universe. You cannot see it by any material means.

The Vedic teachings are already Universal. They are non sectarian. The Sanskrit words are known throughout the whole Universe, it is a universal language.

The Rama Empire was on this planet during Treta Yuga. Lord Ramacandra is non different from Krishna.

We are currently within Kali Yuga, which started 5,000 years ago.

Here is a shastric quote supporting the length and durations of the Yugas.

Bhagavad-gita As It Is 8.17

sahasra-yuga-paryantam
ahar yad brahmano viduh
ratrim yuga-sahasrantam
te 'ho-ratra-vido janah

SYNONYMS

sahasra -- one thousand; yuga -- millenniums; paryantam -- including; ahah -- day; yat -- that which; brahmanah -- of Brahma; viduh -- they know; ratrim -- night; yuga -- millenniums; sahasra-antam -- similarly, ending after one thousand; te -- they; ahah-ratra -- day and night; vidah -- who understand; janah -- people.

TRANSLATION

By human calculation, a thousand ages taken together form the duration of Brahma's one day. And such also is the duration of his night.

PURPORT

The duration of the material universe is limited. It is manifested in cycles of kalpas. A kalpa is a day of Brahma, and one day of Brahma consists of a thousand cycles of four yugas, or ages:

Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali

The cycle of Satya is characterized by virtue, wisdom and religion, there being practically no ignorance and vice, and the yuga lasts 1,728,000 years.

In the Treta-yuga vice is introduced, and this yuga lasts 1,296,000 years.

In the Dvapara-yuga there is an even greater decline in virtue and religion, vice increasing, and this yuga lasts 864,000 years.

And finally in Kali-yuga (the yuga we have now been experiencing over the past 5,000 years) there is an abundance of strife, ignorance, irreligion and vice, true virtue being practically nonexistent, and this yuga lasts 432,000 years.

In Kali-yuga vice increases to such a point that at the termination of the yuga the Supreme Lord Himself appears as the Kalki avatara, vanquishes the demons, saves His devotees, and commences another Satya-yuga. Then the process is set rolling again.

These four yugas, rotating a thousand times, comprise one day of Brahma, and the same number comprise one night. Brahma lives one hundred of such "years" and then dies.

These "hundred years" by earth calculations total to 311 trillion and 40 billion earth years. By these calculations the life of Brahma seems fantastic and interminable, but from the viewpoint of eternity it is as brief as a lightning flash.

In the Causal Ocean there are innumerable Brahmas rising and disappearing like bubbles in the Atlantic. Brahma and his creation are all part of the material universe, and therefore they are in constant flux.

In the material universe not even Brahma is free from the process of birth, old age, disease and death. Brahma, however, is directly engaged in the service of the Supreme Lord in the management of this universe -- therefore he at once attains liberation. Elevated sannyasis are promoted to Brahma's particular planet, Brahmaloka, which is the highest planet in the material universe and which survives all the heavenly planets in the upper strata of the planetary system, but in due course Brahma and all the inhabitants of Brahmaloka are subject to death, according to the law of material nature.

So with a little math we can find out when Lord Ramacandra was on this planet last. It is said that Lord Ramacandra appears at the last quarter of Treta Yuga.

1,296,000 / 4 = 324,000 1/4 duration of Treta Yuga.

and we include the whole duration of Dvapara Yuga
and 5,000 years of Kali Yuga

324,000
+864,000
+5,000
--------

1,193,000 years ago would be the accepted shastric calculation when Lord Ramacandra appeared on this planet.

As you can see from this calculation, the Vedas insist that Humans have existed on this planet for a very very long time, and in the past they were more intelligent than us, and also lived longer.

His birth site is still marked in Ayodhya, India.

As far as Jesus goes, he was a devotee of the Lord and Spiritual Master to many in his locale. He taught to love the lord, and that is considered bhakti-yoga. Bhakti-yoga is non sectarian, as long as you are teaching love of the one supreme god.

As far as Krishna's death is concerned.

We know everything about his death. We already know when he would return, and that already occurred. He was scheduled to incarnate on this planet again during Kali Yuga (the current age) as a hidden avatar, the golden avatar, during the golden age of kali yuga, which according to the Brahma Vaivarta Purana started with Kali Yuga, but will only continue for 5,000 more years, for a total of roughly 10,000 years.

Krishna has appeared again in India as the incarnation of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. We know everything about this incarnation and what his instructions were.

There will be no more incarnations of Krishna/Vishnu until Kalki Avatar, at the end of Kali Yuga in 427,000 years.

Right now we can make the most of our Kali Yuga which is in its Golden Age, and associate with Bhakti Yogi's. The Golden Age is a Spiritual Golden age, not a material golden age.

We are advancing technologically but this is not a symptom of a golden age, this is a symptom of Kali Yuga. In previous ages they did not require technology, as they possessed superior bodies.

Are Gnostics Right?
 Quoting: 3311 1399458

I am sorry I am not familiar with the teachings of the Gnostics. Could you elaborate?

sorry, it should read

What is the meaning of the word god?
 Quoting: Sojom

The word God means one without equal.

In Sanskrit, there is no 1 word for God. You will find an unlimited amount of words for God. God is only One, but he has unlimited names, forms, and expansions. The same way you can light unlimited candles, with an original candle.

Krishna is sanskrit for "All Attractive". This word is reserved for the spiritual being who has unlimited attractiveness, unlimited wealth, unlimited fame, unlimited life.

There are unlimited names for describing an unlimited Lord.

What is electricity?
What is magnetism?
What is gravity?
What is water?
 Quoting: Sojom

This is a complicated topic. I will have to get back to it later.

Mostly they are accepted as seperated energies of the Lord, working by his will.

There are 8 material elements or "states" rather.

Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether, Mind, Ego, Intelligence.

Each successive material element is considered finer than the previous.

Earth is Solids
Water is Liquids
Fire is Plasma's (electricity is included)
Air are Gas's
Ether is Sky or Space

These are all found in originally in the Spiritual Eternal world.
"A sense of common interest can be fostered among individuals, if they know that they are inter-connected, are parts of one Organic System and are the sons and daughters of one Father. Here is the task of all religions; to teach people that all beings of the world are closely inter-related. Although steadfastness or firm belief in God (Nistha) according to some particular faith and eligibility of the individual is congenial for healthy spiritual growth of every individual, religious bigotry which begets enmity is condemnable, as it is against the real interest of the individual and society. Real religion teaches love for one another. Lord Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu propagated the cult of all-embracing Divine Love which brings universal brotherhood on a transcendental plane.

There are 4 Seasons of the Universe, that repeat one after another, just like the seasons of the planet.

These seasons are called

Satya or Golden Season
Treta or Silver Season
Dwarpa or Bronze Season
Kali or Iron Season.

These seasons all have durations, just like seasons of Earth last a monthly duration.

In Vedic Knowledge, we know exactly what day it is in the Universe, not just on this planet.

If we know what day it is in the Universe, we know what season we are in.

Certain Avatars of God appear in Certain seasons, and this is also an indicator of what season we are in.

Krishna appears in the end Dwarpa Yuga, or the Bronze Season.

Dwarpa Yuga just ended 5,000 years ago, and we entered into the season of Kali Yuga.

Kali Yuga is a further degradation of the conditions of the planet.

The qualities of this age are Hypocrisy and Quarrel.

We can see by practical example every day, that Hypocrisy and Quarrel are very much rampant in every day life. This was not always the case in previous Yugas, and this won't be the case in the next yuga Satya or Golden Age. But this won't occur for another 427,000 years. This is a schedule, a seasonal schedule.

But right now, during the first 10,000 years of Kali Yuga, there is a hidden Spiritual Golden age, in which one can obtain freedom from all the miseries of Kali Yuga.

This Spiritual Golden Age will continue for the next 5,000 years. The way we can take advantage of this Golden Age right now, is by directly associating with practitioners of Bhakti Yoga.

Bhakti Yoga allows one to cleanse the contamination from the mirror of the mind, allowing you to develop a sincere Love of God devoid of any sectarian bigotry or enmity. Devotees of Krishna are friend to everyone.

Srila Prabhupada had made many statements prior to his death.

He wanted the Ritvik Acharyas to continue initiating on his behalf, just like they were doing at the time.

But the Ritviks didn't like this idea and they all wanted to become Swamis and take on disciples.

Most of them all fell away and failed because they did not follow the direct orders of Srila Prabhupada.

But that matters not, the whole purpose of the movement is being fulfilled in that the Holy Names of the Lord are going to be chanted in every house hold on every continent on the planet.

It really was worded much nicer than I could do, but like Greg_B. requested the "commoner" version.

Hello OP,

Here's my question: Could you tell me a bit about Pranayama ... or any other Vedic breathing Technique. My goal is to achieve an Out of body state. I know the Breath is the Key to the Soul. So my assumption is, if I can master breathing, i will be able to go out of my body. Any ideas/tips/advices?

Any other clue to achieve the Out of Body State is highly appreciated, breathing related or not...

Thank you in advance.

Can you tell how is it that Bramha who is the alleged creator of all in the universe is depicted as being born out of Vishnu ?

So, the question remains how was Vishnu born out of ?
Then there is the Purana's which depict the godess Shakti as the creator of this universe and as the highest form of being in the pantheon. Can't be having two figure heads in the same worldview.

There seems to be some pretty far-out inconsistencies in the Veda's and Purana's as far as Im concerned. It only reinforces my view that the Veda's was used as a tool by the minder's / priests to control the race, in service of an extraterrestrial race.

There are no inconsistencies in the Vedas. The only inconsistencies are in your approach to the Vedic knowledge.

The Paramatman feature of the Personality of Godhead is divided into three plenary expansions, collectively called “Vishnu Tattwa.”

Kirodakshayee Vishnu
Garbhodakshayee Vishnu
Karanadakshayee Vishnu

The Vishnu Tattwa within the universe (one of the three principal deities—Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) is known as the “Kirodakshayee Vishnu.“ He is the all-pervading Paramatman in each and every individual living entity.

And the “Garbhodakshayee Vishnu” is the collective Supersoul of all living entities.

Beyond these two there is the Karanadakshayee Vishnu lying in the Causal Ocean. He is the Creator of all the universes.

The culture of empiric philosophy helps one to realize the impersonal Brahmajyoti, which is the glaring effulgence of the transcendental body of Lord Sri Krishna. This is confirmed in The Bhagavad Gita as well as in the Brahma Samhita (5.40):

"In the millions and millions of universes, there are innumerable planets, each and every one of them different from the others by cosmic constitution, and all of them situated in a corner of the Brahmajyoti. This Brahmajyoti is the Personal ray of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Whom I do worship."

Perfect knowledge means to know the root of Brahman. The root of Brahman is Lord Sri Krishna, and in scriptures such as the Srimad Bhagvatam the science of Krishna is perfectly elaborated. In the Bhagvatam, the author, Srila Vyasadeva, has established by realization that the Supreme Truth is described either as Brahman, Paramatman or Bhagavan.
"A sense of common interest can be fostered among individuals, if they know that they are inter-connected, are parts of one Organic System and are the sons and daughters of one Father. Here is the task of all religions; to teach people that all beings of the world are closely inter-related.

First, don't regurgitated and expect it to be conclusive proof. You've not answered the question about Shakti and don't seem know Veda's as much as you think.

If you'll stop preaching and listen -
The Brahma Samhita that you quote is part of Kurma Purana which has/had four parts. Bramhi Samhita, Bhagawati Samhita, Gauri Samhita and Vaishnavi Samhita. Surprise, surprise the only part available now is the Bramha Samhita. If you refer Devi Bhagavatha Purana, then you'll see that

"Lords Brahma and Siva also paid their reverent prayers to Maha Devi Bhagavati and She bestowed Her blessings to them to dutifully discharge their respective duties to Her entire satisfaction, as they had raised queries before their departure by airflight; She commanded them to initiate the fulfillment of tasks assigned to them forthwith. "

You can see the Devi Bhagawatam and the inconsistencies in the Gita in print in this video.

What does that tell you ?

Don't fall for the ruse and keep on with this. The controllers want you to be blind in faith. That doesn't make it right or the truth.

Re: Full, Clear, Concise Answers given in the context of >>Vedic Knowledge<<. This Is Vedic Knowledge. Ask me any question?
You say I am preaching, But I am telling you exactly how it is understood by the highest level acharyas.

I have no desire whatsoever to understand the Vedas in a deformed, misconstrued way in which you depict.

I have accepted the authority of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, Bhaktisiddhanta Swami, Bhaktivinoda Thakur, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

They were much greater scholars in every single way than you attempt to show yourself to be.

They have disciples on this planet right now who hundreds of times more knowledgeable on Vedic scripture than we can even imagine.

These are the learned men who I learn my knowledge from, and if you would take some time to understand their position, you would see easily that they are not trying to control anybody, or have any ulterior motive whatsoever other than to give you the highest understanding of Vedic knowledge.

Hundreds of Thousands of AMERICANS have even seen this and accepted the Vedas.

That is where this thread is going, it is not going down the perverted path of impersonalism.

I will teach the pure teachings of the Gaudiya-vaishnav's, which removes all misunderstandings of the Vedas.

If you would like to cast further doubt, and confusion onto the Vedas, go ahead and create your own thread.

You call it preaching because you cannot accept the Sanskrit terms as being a non sectarian language, a universal language.

All the greatest Sanskrit and Vedic scholars are Bhakti Yogis, this is a fact that you can trace out through history.

Maha Lakshmi devi who is the direct consort of Maha Vishnu is the embodiment of the Shakti energy.

The shakti energy has no creative energy without the purusa energy.

Vishnu/Lakshmi
Krishna/Radha

Vishnu impregnates Maya who is the material embodiment of Shakti.

It says Vishnu glances over the material creation and impregnates it with innumerable living entities.

Radharani is the ultimate form of the Shakti energy.

You can see how they have always depicted the Shakti energy as the servant of the Purusa energy.

Maha Lakshmi is serving Lord Vishnu. As you can see there has always been room for more than 1 being on the top, because they are always considered to be parts, parcels, and expansions of the one Supreme.

Maha Lakshmi devi is the embodiment of the Shakti energy because she is female ? That's a good approximation. If you want to keep on with this feeble line of thought be my guest.

First it's Brahma = Vishnu = Shiv. And now it's Vishnu = Lakshmi = Shakti. Who gave you this explanation ?

No wonder you've been slaves for 25000 years.

Next,

If Vishnu is the creator of all things then who is Brahma ? Why is he shown as being born out of Vishnu's belly button ?

The inconsistency in the Vedas is your problem. You're having a hard time trying to reconcile all these things and put up a cogent argument.

There is no inconsistency and I have no problem reconciling anything.

It is YOU who are having a hard time grasping it.

Brahma is in charge of CREATING within THIS one Universe.
Vishnu is the MAINTAINER of ALL the Universes.
Brahma is born out of Vishnu on a flower.
No reconciliation problems there.

Shakti IS the creative power. But Shakti has NO creation capability without Vishnu. Vishnu is the maintainer of all the Universes.
So that has no problems being reconciled either.

Vishnu is the energetic, Lakshmi is the energy or (hence the word) Shakti of Vishnu.

This is not hard to grasp, this is the elementary understanding..

Your novice level of Vedic knowledge is causing you to be confused.

I have no problems with any Puranas. All puranas are Shastric to me and I accept all statements within all Puranas.

You obviously don't know anything about A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami's work, Bhaktisiddhanta Swami's work, or Bhaktivinode Thakur's work.

Every single Puranic scripture is accepted as revealed knowledge and that is also the opinion of those Acharyas.

Re: Full, Clear, Concise Answers given in the context of >>Vedic Knowledge<<. This Is Vedic Knowledge. Ask me any question?
Thank you for creating this thread raising these most fundamental truths. The wisdom of the veda's (also the Gita and Mahabarata) reminds me of a little book I came across back in the late 80's with a very interesting yet simple spiritual philosophy - time is cyclic and eternal and the deities remembered and worshipped to this day are in fact previous incarnations of human souls at a time where purity and peace reigned and duality did not exist. The Supreme soul is different only in that he remains bodiless, constant in his unconditional love and purity.

My copy is long gone but I managed to find a pdf of the story online:-

The Voyagers - by Robert Shubow

Chapter I - THE HOME

Once upon a time, let us say it was five thousand years in the past, or perhaps in the future, in a different universe than ours, a different dimension there lived a race of conscient beings, beings who were so pure and so knowledgeful, that they remained in a state of total peace. Their world was of a very different nature than ours; it was of light.

These beings, who were called Sha Ligra’ams, lived immersed in an ocean of golden red illumination, they swam in this light, like fish in a sea of silence. And in fact, these beings had reached such a state of harmony and completeness that they did not have the need to move around at all. The Sha Ligra’ams were not made of flesh and bones as we are, but were themselves composed completely of light. And they were very small, in fact they would appear to you and me as tiny points of light, micro stars. And yet, with the powers of mind and of intellect, and of personality, developed to absolute perfection. And so the Sha Ligra’am race floated gracefully in their silent sea of light, like a heavenly constellation.

They did not all shine with equal power. Some were radiating tremendous fields of energy and light, and some were only weakly flickering. The stronger ones eventually arranged themselves together in a sort of rosary creating an intricate and beautiful pattern, something like a shimmering necklace of diamonds.

In the center were the most powerful Sha Ligra’ams of all these beings emitted such an incredible radiance of peace and harmony that all the other Sha Ligra’ams naturally arranged themselves around this central group of tiny powerhouses, as if some sort of magnetic force had brought them together.
And in the very center, at the top of the whole population of Sha Ligra’ams there dwelt the most incredibly powerful and beautiful being of all. He was so radiant, and so constant, that all the others wanted only to remain near him. He possessed a state of absolute knowledge of the entire universe – in fact knowledge of every universe, including our own. He understood the innermost secrets of time itself. He could travel instantaneously to any part of the remotest space, or even beyond. He understood the past, present and future. He could do literally whatever he wanted. The Sha Ligra’am race was the most powerful race of beings anywhere; compared to them, human beings are mere monkeys.

Yet the leader of the Sha Ligra’ams was completely benign. He had not the slightest intention of doing even the least bit of harm. In fact, his only aim was to see that the universe kept functioning peacefully, and whenever it got out of order, he would act quickly to restore it to its original condition. The name of this being, who was supreme among all, was Shi Vah. And all the other Sha Ligra’ams considered him their father.
All went smoothly and in perfect order in this world of light, but a time came when one Sha Ligra’am, and then another, decided that this home was no longer exciting enough for them. That world of pure spirit, where thay interacted on a level even beyond thought, was simply lacking one thing: entertainment – change – happiness.

And so, one of the strongest of the race communincated with the father Shi Vah: “I want to explore another world,” the child declared “Let me take some others with me, and we shall colonize some further dimension. We desire this experience.” “Sweet child, where will you go?” Shi Vah asked in amusement. “ I don’t know. But there must be a world that is worth the effort to explore. We have peace here, but we have come so far that we have forgotten what it is to experience, to build again from a new beginning. That is what we desire. Is there such a place, with the material and the potential, and the appropriate enviroment?”
The father thought for a moment, knowing already what was to lie ahead. And in his pause of the space of the second, he measured the very bounds of eternity in his oceanic mind, and he said “yes”.

“Your desires can only be fulfilled by a physical world with stars and planets.”Shi Vah went on, “ But most of the worlds are empty, they are good for little but to keep the gravitational balance of the universe on keel. But there is one place, a planet in remotest space, in a physical world of four dimensions. It is such a planet , a gem which has all the beauty you could ask for. Truly, you may trun it into a world of happiness. Go then, my children, go in sufficient numbers to establish a colony. You will need to manufacture equipment when you get there. You will need space suits. But I shall help you in everything. Go and experience your happiness. You have earned it. And if anything goes wrong, call me, and I shall help you all I can”.

The children who were nearest beamed with delight. They immediately organized a party of voyagers, nine hundred thousand strong, to colonize the far off planet. The party was to be led by the child who had asked to go, and another being who stood beside him,and also shone brightly and courageously. You must know that Sha Ligra’ams were such an advanced race that they needed no physical space ship in which to travel. Merely by their highly developed thought power, they transferred themselves out of the light world, and into a strange new dimension. It was the beginning of a long and eventful odyssey, and the voyagers would not return to their home of peace for a long, long time.

Chapter II - THE KINGDOM

The Aa Ta Mahs (or travellers) flew in a V – formation ( the V was for victory) through the sea of light, and into a region of white haze, punctuated by visionary phenomena of many kinds. This was an enchanted region which they knew about, which served as a gateway between the dimensions. They flew on, and entered the world of space. Once there it was a short journey, even though reckoned by billions of miles, to their destination, a medium sized planet very much like our own. Except that this planet was in virgin condition. Seas of deep blue, and islands lush with greenery and unimaginably gorgeous flowers. There was only one continent on this planet, surrounded by an ocean. And due to the angle of the axis of the planet, it was always springtime on this remarkable mass of land. As the Sha Ligra’ams flew in orbit around their new world, scouting it for its many new and delightful aspects, they realized it was more wonderful even than their wildest dreams. It was truly a Paradise!

Gold seemed to be the most common mineral present. And diamonds lay upon the ground in elegant heaps. Rivers ran gracefully through the heart of the land. The temperature was moderate. The planet rotated, causing a cycle of day and night. It was all very lovely, and so they decided to go aground immediately. But there was still the problem of survival once within the planetary boundaries. For the influence of the atmosphere would prevent them from functioning as they could in their own world. Telepathic communication would be more difficult there, and their powers of teleportation would not work with elements of matter as they did in their world of light. To function down there, they world need space suits. But how would they get them? It seemed an impossible proposition, since they would need the suits in order to produce them. This was the first of many difficulties which they had to solve. Why had they not thought of this problem before they set out? Of course, they realized, they had depended on Shi Vah to let them know of such things, and he had not spoken about it. In any case, there was nothing else to do but go down and see what might be appropriated from the natural environment.

The leader of the expedition went down first. Yet, even before he had entered the air-filled atmosphere, he felt a pull, a familiar mental invitation which had so often been sent to him by his fellow Sha Ligra’ams back home. He followed the line of thought to its source.

There, on the surface of the planet, he saw two Sha Ligra’ams shining up at him. The two were wearing space suits. And they had prepared one for him as well. The voyager, whose name was Kri Sha Nah, put on the suit, and began to ask a lot of questions.

“What are you doing here?” Kri asked. “Father Shi Vah remembered that you would need these suits, so he sent us here as an advance party to produce them for you. We shall return home shortly. But you have chosen an excellent location to colonize. We have already built several houses, using the most common building material, which is pure gold.”

When Kri Sha Nah had gotten used to his new space suit, he began to ride around inside it. The suit was robot-like but it was far more beautiful and life-like. The suit was in the form of a body very similar to our own, except it was made of the purest elements, and suffered no malfunctions. The suit had two eyes, as do our bodies, and the control room where Kri sat was located in the forehead, between the eyebrows. There was also a marvellous computer in the control room, and with that instrument, Kri was able to get the robot suit to act in any way he wished. He soon learned to drive it with wonderful grace and elegance.

The other voyagers also came down to the planet, and they, too, were provided with these lovely vehicles to ride in and to operate. It was necessary for all the Sha Ligra’ams to remain inside the vehicles as long as they wished to stay in the gravitational field of the planet. But since these vehicles were so fascinating and so comfortable, no one complained at all. In fact the possession of these material space vehicles was turning out to be the best part of their whole expedition. For the bodies enabled them to experience in ways they never had before. Kri turned to another Sha Ligra’am, the one who was second in command, whose name was Laak Sha Mi, and he said,”We shall stay here. It is truly heavenly in this world. We shall learn how to produce more of these vehicles using our thought power, and we shall then invite others of our brothers to come and join us. It shall become a great colony here”.

“What shall we call our new land?” wondered Laak Sha Mi.”Let us call this world Ba Haarat,”answered Kri, for the name sounded mellifluous upon the air, and he enjoyed making his new robot body speak the tones. And all agreed that was the perfect name. Kri and Laak, being the most powerful and gentle of the Sha Ligra’ams, retained their positions as leaders, and they ruled jointly. Since they all retained their eternal peacefulness and harmony, which they had had in the home of light, they went about their business joyously and with the highest possible intoxication. Palaces were built, and flying ships which operated on thought power. Technological equipment of variety required was created in a second by these superintelligent beings. And using their new computers, they played games all day. Every one of the voyagers became involved with these computer games. They played word games, which they called poetry, and games with sound, which they called music, and games with their vehicles, which they called dance. In fact, their whole lives were devoted soon to these games.

When they looked at the sun in the daytime, they were reminded of their father Shi Vah, and at night when they looked at the stars, they remembered their brothers who still lived far away in the home of light, and so they were never lonely with such memorials hanging lovingly in the skies.
The group flourished amid laughter and beauty and perfection of life. They had truly achieved what they had set out to find: happiness.
At first, Kri Sha Nah and Laak Sha Mi made sure that everyone in the party was well taken care of, and then when they had satisfied themselves that each of their brothers was doing just what he ought to be doing, and that they were all supremely happy with their lot, they set about producing another space suit in order to invite another brother from back home to come down and see the kind of happiness they had.

They discovered that it took the combined mental power of both of them to create the new space suit, and that the suit would have to gradually take form within the suit of brother Laak. Since he took over that aspect of the production, Laak called his suit a female. When the new suit was ready they sent a thought wave of great energy back to their home dimension, and soon one of their brothers who was anxious to join them, appeared and suited up.
The new brother looked around in wonder and said, “this is truly a palace to live in”. Laak laughed joyously.”This palace is only the small one. You are inside my space suit. When you get out , you will see the palace we have built for ourselves here. But there is no hurry. Stay a while here in my vehicle and keep me company.”

Kri was meanwhile organizing delightful picnics on the surrounding isles. The group would fly their flying machines, which they built in the form of golden swans, and they would explore the whole entrancing world of which they had become the masters. Kri was given the title Nah Rah Yan, which meant the emperor. Laak was made the empress.
After a century or so, the suits of the emperor and empress wore out, and they traded them in for new outfits, which they had to re-train to use with the same skill. And so they let other brothers take the posts of emperor and empress. For there were many qualified brothers now who could lead.
When one of the body-suits which they wore began to lose its functionality, usually after a hundred and fifty years or so, the Sha Ligra’am inhabiting it would sit down with it quite calmly and would quickly jump through power of thought into a newly made body – into another vehicle. Afterwards they would turn the old abandoned one, and since the new body-vehicle would be even better than the worn out one, no one ever missed the old bodies, or worried about having to give up one.

And the life of happiness went on, year after year, century after century, millenium after millenium. More and more Sha Ligra’ams in the world of light received inviting thoughtwaves from their brothers in the kingdom and came down on the planet in order to join the fine goings-on. And so, the population grew steadily from the original nine hundred thousand, to nearly three hundred thirty million. Now the palaces had to be built a little less fancier, and silver was used instead of gold. Eventually there were many little kingdoms instead of one big one, but all were united in peace under the benign rule of the emperor.

And no one attached any special importance to the space suits whilst meeting each other, because they still felt they were Sha Ligra’ams, even though they could not see each other any more in the pure form of light they had possessed long ago at home. The wearing of the suits had become second nature to them. It was pleasant, but not new any more, and so, they were no longer as enthusiastic about it as in the beginning of the kingdom.

Chapter III - THE TURNING POINT

One day, some 2500 years after the founding of the original colony, an event took place which was to rock the entire order of peace and happiness which had reigned for so long.

Vi Karum, who was one of the rulers of that time, called one of his brothers over.”That is a very beautiful vehicle you are riding in,”he said to his brother, whose vehicle was of the female variety.”I would like to touch it.” The brother laughed.”How can you touch it? Will you come out of your own vehicle to do so?”
Vi Karum smiled.”No, of course not. But let me touch it with my vehicle’s hands.” After that, Vi Karum’s attention was focussed more and more towards the vehicle of his brother. He simply adored its styling, its contours, its power of movement, its color and decoration. The brother was becoming increasingly less happy to see this turn of events, because Vi Karum was no longer paying him any attention. He only wanted to talk about vehicles. He wanted to see how the vehicle operated. How warm was it? How hard or soft? “How silly,”brother chided. A little thing, but was the first reprimand ever uttered by any of the Sha Ligra’ams in all their history of life together in Ba Haarat.
“Go away, this vehicle of mine is superior,”Vi Karum retorted. And that was the first expression of arrogance ever recorded in their whole Kingdom. And secretly, Vi Karum did not want to trade in his vehicle for another, because he did not know what sort of new one he could get. And so attachment entered for the first time.
I ‘d better get all the experience I can with this vehicle while I still have it,”Vi Karum said one day, in his concern over the future. And that was the beginning of greed. Vi Karum was unfortunately not the only one who was beginning to get these new and terrible thoughts, however. The Sha Ligra’ams seemed suddenly tired, they did not play as much as they used to with each other. They began to concern themselves more and more with these space suit vehicles. And they even learned how to let the vehicles run on atutomatic pilot, while they would take naps inside.

Soon the most fashionable game was playing with each other’s vehicles, simply for the sake of the sensations recorded by the computer. But they had less and less direct contact with each other. The Sha Ligra’ams forgot about their telepathy entirely. And one day, it happened: one vehicle, while on automatic pilot, spoke to another vehicle without the Sha Ligra’am inside having induced it to do so. The computer had taken over. And the Sha Ligra’am was trapped helplessly inside.

The vehicles began re-ordering society, as one by one, they took over from the weakened masters, the Sha Ligra’ams, who had been away from home too long, and now lacked the power of concentration needed to re-assert their mastery over matter. The bodies had snatched power. The brain computers wished to increase the pleasurable sensations which they had learned to record, and to this end they made contact with other bodies the highest priority. The Sha Ligra’ams were too confused by the massive take-over to react. When they tried to re-assert their authority, they began to act again with greed and anger and arrogance, and as a result, there was conflict, the brotherhood was broken, and the kingdom splintered. The explosion of destructive mental power was so shattering that the continent on which they stood came apart from under them, broke into six or seven lesser continents. The palaces fell in the orgy of natural disaster, the technological equipment was destroyed, the people were impoverished, except for a small remnant on the original site of the colony. These embodied beings suddenly remembered their long forgotten father who lived in some far off dimension, the immortal, all-powerful Shi Vah. They began to call for him. And so he sent a messenger.
“Do you want to come home?’ the messenger asked. “Actually, we like it here,”they responded,”but take away our suffering, that’s what we don’t like.”The Sha Ligra’ams had forgotten they were even Sha Ligra’ams; they had begun to identify with the bodies they resided in. They had become sleep-walkers.

Chapter IV - THE GROWING DARKNESS

As time went on, more and more of the Sha Ligra’ams came down from the world of light to the planet, having heard about the pleasures which were available there, and not aware of the troubles which were occurring. Bodies were made for them, too, but now they were made from physical power rather than thought power, because the latter had been lost.

Many of the new arrivals were quite popular, because they still possessed fresh powers, whereas those who had been here long, had already used up a great part of their energies. The new one’s reminded the older colonists of the way it was back home. But most of those who listened were unmoved, because they had been on the planet too long, and had become set in their ways.

A number of new arrivals were horrified, however. Life was not at all as they had hoped. There was no longer any science and technology, because all that had been destroyed, and even forgotten, so the inhabitants everywhere were poor. And nature had become more cruel. Spring had begun to alternate with other seasons, and winter was quite harsh. And now, in place of one kingdom, there were many isolated groups and cultures, many of whom had even forgotten about the existence of the others. They wrote down their collective memories about the way things used to be in the golden times, and the legends of each group were of course quite similar, but they never met to compare notes, and so the isolated development went on.

When a particularly strong Sha Ligra’am would come down from the other dimension with a message from Shi Vah, the others would be much affected and ideas about this far away father began to abound. They called him I-Shu-Var or Ja-Hu-Bah, and they worshipped him in different ways. They were sure that he could hear and see everything and they understood that he had no body as they had, but where he lived, had become a mystery. And how one could live at all without a body was no longer understood.

Soon the group which had remained in the original locale of the first empire, began to make statues of the bodies of the first leaders. They now believed that these kings and queens belonged to a superior and mightier race of beings who had once ruled the planet with supernatural powers and would still determine in a telepathic manner the happenings in this world from other stars or regions. At some time they would come again. In certain buildings where the statues of these idols were erected one was supposed to sing their praise and give other evidences of veneration, in order to gain their favour and help. The name of Kri Sha Nah became famous, and would often be heard sung or chanted. But no one remembered any more who was the Sha Ligra’am child who had lived within that bulky space suit body. For they no longer remembered that they were Sha Ligra’ams at all.

Some of those who were most horrified about the way things were, left the colonies and began to live in the jungles. There they spent their time in silence, and many ideas came to them which were very deep. “We have souls,”they said to one another.”We are not just bodies”
“And what’s a soul?” another would ask. “I’m not sure. But it’s not this, and not that either.” So went the conversation. Later, someone suggested,”Perhaps the soul is identical with the supreme being I Shu-Var.””Of course,” another agreed. It must be so. The soul is I- Shu-Var. We are looking for the Supreme!”

Once this new idea took hold, things began to change even more rapidly, because many believed to be near to I-Shu-Var and know his will. The inhabitants began to say that he wanted them to conquer the neighbouring colony. And that if they died fighting the evil neighbours, he would be pleased. And that he hated unbelievers. Many of the colonists were convinced by all this, and they followed those who proposed such ideas. And they were immediately inducted into armies in the name of the father of the Sha Ligr’ams! So little did they know about his real intentions.”Big Father wants you!” was the slogan. And the number of wars increased, as these false creeds multiplied. And as the colonists destroyed each other’s space suits at ever increasing numbers, at the same time, the suits had begun to multiply at faster and faster rates to provide replacements. Each time a Sha Ligra’am was forced to leave his suit, he realized again his true identity as a point of light. But by this time he was so attached to his physical form of life, that he immediately forgot the truth again upon suiting up in a new young body. It was quite funny really, all these little points of light, thinking they were these big vehicles of matter, and devoting all their time to keeping the bodies gratified and content. But the body-conscious Sha Ligra’ams became more and more addicted to these sense pleasures, and so more and more angry when such pleasures were threatened. And more and more greedy for wealth. And so their societies became increasingly corrupt.

Those from the world of light came now in vastly growing numbers. All wanted to see what was drawing the others and to play a part in the big drama which they knew must be going on down there. Soon the light world was completely emptied of inhabitants, all except for the supreme leader of the Sha Ligra’ams, Shi Vah. He did not move, but he knew everything that was going on. And he waited until the accurate moment at which he would come into action.

Chapter V - THE END OF THE PLAY

Now the planet was terribly overcrowded. Nearly seven billion Sha Ligra’ams were settled there now, living in bodies which had become less and less well manufactured. They lasted for less time, and they were subject to disease and deformity.

The inhabitants, mainly the newcomers, had re-built the lost scientific and technological body of knowledge and by its help the many colonies had been freed from their isolation and had got in touch with each other in many ways. But instead of becoming friendly, they became more and more competitive. And planet-wide wars came to be fought. And the new scientific knowledge came to be used to create dreadful weapons for destroying the bodily vehicles of each other. No one even talked about the “soul” much any more. They thought that when they rendered the body unfunctional, it “died”. They didn’t know any more of the Sha Ligra’am living inside. That was how impure these little beings had become.

As the vitally necessary things began to run short for all this vast population, they began to hate each other more and more. There were less and less treasures of the soil, ie. fuel to run the re invented flying machines and the new rolling grumbling chairs in which the inhabitants moved as swift as the wind from one place to another. Nature refused to support them. All their selfish pleasures were threatened. Their egoism and arrogance got threatened. And so they wanted to kill; other solutions they could not imagine any more on the overcrowded planet. Weapons were created to allow them to kill in an extremely efficient manner.

Life was the worst that it had ever been. Those who followed one messenger of Shi Vah hated those who followed another. And since the body vehicles were also of different types, those with white vehicles hated those with dark ones. Those who lived in one vicious colony hated those in the others. Those with vehicles of male kind oppressed those brothers who inhabited vehicles of female kind. Everyone strived only for the fulfillment of his own desires by any means available. The planet was completely at war. From a garden of flowers it had become a jungle of thorns.

But there were a few Sha Ligra’ams who deep down in their memory held intuitions of how things had once been. They remembered subconsciously that at one time there had been universal peace and perfect harmony. They knew intuitively that somewhere, someone dwelt who could purify this dirty world and bring it back to the highest condition of happiness. But who was this someone? And where was he now?

The Sha Ligra’am child who had been the first emperor of that long ago Golden Age, who had in the mean time taken 84 bodies, and had forgotten his original identity, spent most of his time in front of pictures of Nah Rah Yan, the first emperor who he had been himself in his first incarnation, but which he did not remember any more. He worshipped this image, thinking it to be the supreme father of the planet-inhabitants. He lived a gentle life, dedicated to this worship, and to making others happy. And he thought about the supreme father constantly, wondering when he might appear. For how long could this misery go on? Surely not forever? Not even for another hundred years, let alone a thousand or forty thousand.

As things got worse and worse, wars and starvation more prevalent, and nature more cruel, hurling earthquakes and floods in revenge for the inhabitants having polluted her elements, the colonists cried out for the father to save them. Their cries were heard. Shi Vah knew that at last they really meant it, that now was the time to intervene. The travellers had had enough. They wanted to come home, but they were trapped inside their costumes.

So the father decided to go and get them, to teach them how to fly again, and to tuck them all safely back into the ocean of peace. When the proper moment had arrived, Shi Vah descended to the planet, like a rocket. He entered the body of the child who had remained loyal, and who had been the most pure throughout the long sojourn on the planet. He sat next to this child in the control room between the eyebrows.

“Hello,”he said.”I am Shi Vah.” And the supreme one lifted the little Sha Ligra’am out of his body, showing him his true form. Shi Vah began to teach the little child how to fly again, how to become pure again like the father.”Just remember me,” said Shi Vah,”and you will attain your perfection once again, fly in victory back to the home of light.”

Word soon got around that Shi Vah had actually come. Others flocked to listen. Since Shi Vah had no body of his own, he borrowed that of this first child, to whom he gave the name Brah Ma, and he spoke using that one’s mouth organ. And one by one the Sha Ligra’ams became self conscious again.
In a few years the message had spread throughout the planet that the father had come to take everyone home. Some didn’t believe it, for they were too lost in the ignorance of body-consciousness. Others were re-born just hearing the knowledge of their true selves.

At the same time that the planet received the message verbally, the re-awakened children began to have visions. The ancient Paradise came to their minds; the liberation which Shi Vah had come to give them from the bane of their bodies; the vision of the self as a tiny point of light from another world; and the complete circularity of time.

“I have been here before,” said Shi Vah to his children.”I came 5000 years ago, to restore paradise on this planet, and I shall come again, whenever my role in this unlimited drama requires me to do so. Now the time has come to take off your costumes and go home. The play is over.”

But evil had reached a climax, and a planet-wide war had begun at that time, just as the inhabitants had recognized that the father had indeed arrived. Metallic flying objects fell upon the overcrowded cities and whole colonies ended in smoke and ashes. Civil wars demolished other colonies. Floods, earth-quakes, and other natural disasters took care of the rest. Only a tiny remnant remained. And the Sha Ligra’ams were released from their bodily prisons at last. They all followed Shi Vah, and flew in formation back to the home. Free at last.

Epilogue - PEACE IS NOT ENOUGH

The Sha Ligra’ams lived once more in their unmoving radiance in the sea of peace. They shone very brightly, and they all circled around the Father, who was glad to have them all home again. Soon they forgot they had ever been away. None of the Sha Ligra’am children could any more remember the turbulent events of the past. It seemed forever that they had been floating in this motionless, undisturbed Ocean of Silence.

And then one child felt, “This is not enough. I desire happiness. I want to explore another world.” The Father gently eyed his loyal child. And after the pause of only a second, He said,”Yes.”

Re: Full, Clear, Concise Answers given in the context of >>Vedic Knowledge<<. This Is Vedic Knowledge. Ask me any question?
Is offered food still considered prasadam if it isn't properly offered to a physical deity?

A friend of mine undergoing Brahmacari training was told that one could simply say "Hare, Hare Krsna" to offer food "on the go"
