CTChick User ID: 1059553 United States 06/15/2011 12:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | get on www.craigslist.com go to your state/city and look under job opportunities. I would sell ANYTHING of value that wasn't doing me any good. Don't bother with eBay, again use Craig's list it's free. If you have any trade skills - mechanic, electrician, plumbing - time to put out a shingle and start working nights/weekends. Good luck, Laura |

Tracy User ID: 1198157 Australia 06/15/2011 12:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WEll....I would sell my house and call the auction house to come get my stuff asap. But that would be a one off and I would lose in the end as eventually Id need a regular house and furniture etc and it would cost more to start over. If you dont own anything....well start up a business..like a window washer or just dont be picky and take any job offered at Centrelink. Another thing one could do is if you live in a pricey town...move to somewhere ultra cheap...like the outback. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1428831 United States 06/15/2011 12:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Happy to help. And don't think about what things are "supposed" to cost. If you can cut hair, do it in your kitchen for $10 a pop or less for kids. If you cut 5 people's hair, that's $50 tax free in your pocket. People are BROKE everywhere, so jobs like painting, housecleaning, car detailing, lawn care ...they are doing those themselves. But they still need haircuts. Think about what people HAVE to have, that they cannot do themselves and how you can meet that need conveniently (mobile pet groomers grew out of this idea). Ditto pet sitters/dog walkers. It's cheaper to hire someone to come to your house than bring your dog to a kennel. A whole thriving industry has grown out of this. Quoting: CTChickLaura The sad thing is the need is now....immediate, and just don't have lot's of skills but I will be thinking over what I can do. Thanks again. |

Quoting: BlazenOh..caveat..you work your ass off during your on months. I would think for the hot dog vendor one would want to be in a large city. I live in a fairly small one. But I seriously like the ideas. Thanks. |

Social Security...govt people who pay the dole, family payments, pensions etc. If you are on benefits they can usually loan you up to $500 and take it out of your payments...but this is Australia and I dont know what USA does. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1428927 United States 06/15/2011 02:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I bought 65 dollars worth of rooster saddle feathers - dyed them bright colors and sold each for 5 dollars as extensions on a popular web site - made 600+ and still have at least another 200 feathers. They dont take up much room - light weight and in great demand. I bought a metal detector and well head for the hills - wont discuss that too much. You'll figure out something. |
