Bill Salus wrote a book not long ago titled, "Isralestine". I read it 18 months ago as I recall. In it he interprets Old Testament prophecies attempting to determine what the future might hold for Israel. One of his interpretations is that an "Arab Confederation" will come against Israel to try and annihilate it. He wrote his book before Hosni Mubarak was forced out of Egypt, before our war against Libya and Syria began, and before Jordan took the hint that radical Islamic factions are going to control the countries surrounding Israel.

What is Salus' "Arab Confederation" comprised of? The countries that border Israel. Having seen the events transpire in the last year in the countries surrounding Israel, Salus' interpretation is looking more and more on the money. Basically, because the Palestinians are hated by almost all the Arab countries, the Arabs are setting the Palestinians up for total annihilation by Israel, and expansion of Israel's borders back to the limits described in the Book of Leviticus, including to the Nile River in Egypt, all the Sinai, all of Lebanon and a big part of Syria, all of Jordan and about the western third of Saudia Arabia, or so Mr Salus argues.

I'm becoming a believer, primarily because I believe God's Word is true, and that His prophecies are going to all. Well, all of these events in light of Mr Salus' interpretation, all constitute a working hypothesis right now. Time will tell if he is right. I think he is.

America's new secretary of defense, Leon Panetta, has a reputation for candor. Panetta was characteristically outspoken about Iranian involvement in support of Shiite insurgents in Iraq. I am interested as well on tomorrow now. We know Friday is a big day for protests in Syria each week. This sounds more like something militarily to me....maybe from Israel,the U.S,etc.

I don't know about the US right now...this whole budget mess in DC has pretty much paralyzed the federal govt. I can't even begin to guess how it can be if Aug 2nd goes by and the country defaults and the pres goes through with his threat of not sending out retiree checks.

Godzilla I agree on your take on that. You wonder if while we are tied down with trying to save our economy...if either the Syrian/Hezbollah alliance or Israel will take some sort of action. Israel is being cornered and the rocket fire from Gaza is increasing again. Last night they were hit by another one or two from Gaza.

Syria is going to have to do something soon to divert attention away from Assad and Hezbollah is fighting the STL and now the Israeli maritime thing....while knowing they can't afford Assad to fall in Syria.

I don't know when but everyday I expect to see breaking news that something major has gone down over there.
