Earthquake 5.2 - KENAI PENINSULA, ALASKA 52 miles SW from Anchorage, AK

I live in Anchorage and did not feel it. I check the earthquake monitor all the time, missed this one. Man, had to be driving around looking for my Rambler car parts....

checked the map and eq was right outside Kenai, where there is an oil refinery! Yikes. Hope the salmon weren't hurt, the Kings are coming up the inlet now. Fish on!

USGS upgrades to 5.2

One good thing about Alaska, we build our structures pretty good, it is the older buildings I worry about. Japan had a 5.1 around the same time today. I will be monitoring the eq site religiously today. Have had a feeling for the last couple days that we were going to get one. I just hope they stay small...peace.

just had another one in the same spot, a 2.6.

I live 15 miles North of Anchorage and i felt it, was kinda a hard jolt then a couple of shakes and it ended, didn't last very long.

(I know, Alaska isn't a 3rd world country...or is it???)

Just felt another one, felt deep, loud rumbling, still not on e.q. site.
