One of those great unknown bands that have a hardcore cult following but don't get mainstream accolades. Been around since 1989 or so. Got a real nice groove with 3-part harmonies from all three guys. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1432815You kinda threw me when you said 1989. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 964816 United States 06/17/2011 10:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Supposedly, anyhow. I just got them today. They were cheaper for a carton than the cheapies. Thing is, you sorta do it yourself. The machines rolls them up and spits them after after you dump the tobacco into it. Then you put them in the carton, one by one, or six. haha Quoting: C. 1324411They burn much slower and have a different taste. I like putting them out. They actually SQUASH like they're supposed to. :) And ten bucks cheaper. Just tobacco and no fire-proof paper. Cool. Well, if your using pre-rolled filters (The empty filters you buy seperately) they are laced with the same chemicals if you were to buy a pack at the store. Rolling your own is smart though because it's cheap...I have my own kit as backup. |
TheTortureKing It’ll End in Tears User ID: 1364417 United States 06/17/2011 10:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been rolling my own for 3 years now. I only smoke Peter Stokkebye brand. They burn slow, I smoke less, enjoy it more, and don't get the craving or urge to have the "stressful" cigarette. The Amsterdam blend is my favorite but I also like the Danish and London. All the blends are good though. It's not easy to find. You have to go to high end shops or you can get it online. I roll with a 1920's metal Concinnum made in England that I found on Ebay. I add a filter, place the tobacco in the rollers, give a twist, load the paper, lick it, twist it and I'm in tobacconist heaven. It's become almost an artform by now. I don't like the "tubes" many people use. The filter and the paper on all I've tried just don't taste nice to me. The wife doesn't mind the smell of the smoke compared to your store bought chemical sticks. Smoke'em if ya got'em, and remember there are no Aethiests in a foxhole. We're all gonna die. Cheers. TK |

Quoting: TheTortureKingGet the fuck out of here. Did you just tell me that you're rolling smokes with a hundred-year-old device??????????? |
TheTortureKing It’ll End in Tears User ID: 1364417 United States 06/17/2011 11:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yep, that's right. I have some older ones that are from the late 1800's. The Concinnum rollers are small and fit in your pocket, but I have to rolling machines from the LeMair Company that were made in Paris that are late 1800's as well. You'd be surprised what you can find out there if you look. I just got so pissed when even the "chemical free" cigarettes had to be sold as "Fire Safe Cigarette" (FSC) which contradicts the entire point of a chemical free cigarette! The FSC smoke tastes like shit.. and what the hell makes it fire safe? Waht are they adding to it or the paper so that it extinguishes itself? Yuk. Anyway, I got creative and enjoy smoking very much. Maybe I'll quit when they say that I don't have to. If your interested in finding machines like I've found, search tobaccianna, antique, mahcine, international on ebay and if you're lucky you'll see one somewhere in a few dozen pages. TK |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1421992 United States 06/17/2011 11:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | King's X likes 'em too Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1432815I like that song a lot. Thank you for posting..... I have no flipping idea who those guys are. Call me stupid. King's X is a GREAT hard rock trio. Their first two albums, Out Of The Silent Planet and Gretchen Goes To Nebraska are terrific... as their career went on their music went downhill a little IMO, more hit-or-miss songs... But GOOD STUFF overall. |
