I have many, many times...Investments can be pieces of land ahead of a developing community...precious metals, I bought a 10 year CD at 7% just before the economy started to collapse, they nearly cried when I cashed it in...I buy savings bonds, real estate, rare coins, stamps...the list is endless...

What do you think people did before Social Security (1935) and Medicare (1965) ??? If they weren't rich or didn't have kids who could afford to take them in and for pay their medical bills they starved or died. Why do you think people pushed for these programs? Probably the same reasons that people are pushing for free college and healthcare this very moment. Everybody loves free stuff. The only problem is that it isn't really free, right?
