Dont be a fraidy cat , it is actually better to see a doctor for a diagnosis and then come back to us and we will tell you how to deal with it |

How does a thyroid affect pooping? I remember the Army wanting to do tests on my thyroid on 2 occasions. First was when I went into basic training at 255 and graduated at 245. Everyone else was dropping weight left and right and my drill sgts. used to think I was hoarding food. I always made tape though and always passed all the runs, pushups, situps, with ease so it wasnt a big deal. The second was when they wanted me smaller for Air Assault school and when some of my buddies would tell me that if I was shot I would be too big for them to carry out. Fortunately I never got any major combat wounds where I had to be carried out but it did make me want to lose weight enough to where I quit lifting weights. |

I have always pooped 6 times a day since my teen years(when I started drinking a lot of sodas) but now since giving up the sodas it has gone from black diarrhea half the time to now very light brown colored logs(usually 2 or 3 each poop) which I think is healthy but still occurs 6 times a day. I am worried that this is not normal though and if I am not at my house were I get the Charmin Ultra Soft I can start to bleed from wiping so much(but my stool is never bloody). In the past when I was in the Army I could hold it to 1 or 2 poops(especially after eating the MREs) but I would often shit 6 to 8 logs at a time then and my stomach would start hurting because I needed to shit so bad. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1431791Background info: I am late 30s, 6'2 240 lbs(former semi-pro football linebacker), but only 10% body fat and run or lift weights every day. Excellent health with no issues...havent had to see a doctor or even been real sick in years. Sounds like you need less meat, oils, and sugars. Try meat as a seasoning. |

You are either tensed and this causes you to visit the bathroom often (I visit it often if I have an important meeting) or have irritable bowel syndrome which is not a disease so rest your mind. Or you have them both! :-) Exercise and relax as much as you can. When you say 'I eat very healthy' what do you typically eat and drink? What did you eat and drink yesterday for example...? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1218246 United States 06/30/2011 07:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Six times a day seems excessive to me. Pooping once each time you eat is the general rule for a healthy colon.* You said they are light brown...Do they float or sink? *There are people who poop only once a day or only every two or three days. Those people don't realize they have a problem, but they do. |

You only need to do one, as long as it's a good one. My doctor told me that you don't really have a problem unless you can't go when you want to and it starts to get uncomfortable. You can in good health go several days without pooping as long as you are comfortable and don't feel like pooping. And when you finally do poo, it should come out easily. |

I had to laugh when I read this, not to many people talk about their poop KINGDOMS, NATIONS AND KINGS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT DOWN TO THEIR KNEES WITH ONE GLANCE FROM A WOMAN. Maybe your intestine doesn't function 100% and is not digesting the food properly? Could be a nervous thing, could be Crohns, could be nothing at all. If you feel well and healthy, have lots of energy etc.... I wouldn't worry too much about it. AT least no-one can say you're full of shit... although I noticed someone already did. HE IS NOT FULL OF SHIT OK ? |
