Goldwater Institute - Groundbreaking US Supreme Court decision on the Tenth Amendment
Yesterday the U.S. Supreme Court issued one of the best and most important decisions ever on federalism. The Court unanimously held that not just states but individuals have standing to challenge federal laws as violations of state sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. This decision is as radical in the direction of liberty as the New Deal was radical in the direction of socialism. Click here to read the decision.

this could be bad though.. If all the states start to dis-mantle federal law, they will all break up & become 50 countries. It has to go like that, it's a rule of the law of superorganisms.

That's like being handed an empty gift box. Sure you can challenge my law, but guess who gets to decide the outcome of your challenge? Me! Bwahaha! Definitely a double edged sword. If that. More loopholes to jerk us around. Open ended decision, not to much of a direct favor to us

do not rejoice, just a scam to allow lawyers to make money from the naive. Take years and eat your cash and no results to show for it, A Lawyer Hiring Act is all. They all work for the govt, that's why lawsuits only go one way ultimately

It is a sad fact that underneath the 14th amendment a corporation has the same rights as a person but cannot be held liable for any of their misdeeds. I'm sure they will somehow use this to their advantage.

The "more perfect union" will be only as extensive as Constitutionally permissible. Surely you don't think that means no union at all? You would be comforted to know that the South fought hard against even that much of a union, so there must be something to it.

Good point, now we'll have multinationals like Goldman asserting states' rights when it suits them. Maybe Goldman will say that the financial regulations violate the 10th Amendment. A wild and wacky world it will continue to be.

The big banks HATE Dodd-Frank, which is squeezing their business. Is Dodd-Frank allowable under the 10th Amendment?

Great news. I hope it's a sign that they are very awake and aware of what is being perpetrated with the Patriot Act, and they are acting now to strengthen our Constitution and Bill of Rights as is their duty.
