Perhaps while you're still asleep, the 12 "modern" carriers (which are actually 20-30+ years old) will probably be decommissioned as the US slips into economic oblivion. Meanwhile, China (America's biggest creditor and growing at double-digit economic and military growth) will be revamping existing carriers to actually fit into the 21st century design and capability. Moreover, they have the money to do it to multiple carriers. Many more than 12. By the time you awake, you might find quite a different world to the one you went asleep to. |
