Even with the $100 million that brings the government's contribution to the project to $188 million so far, the project remains uncertain. USEC officials have said they still need about $92 million from Congress to finish the Centrifuge project and move toward commercialization of the uranium enrichment technology, as envisioned by an agreement with the federal Department of Energy.
