Nuclear Waste Pollutes North St. Louis County Creek for Half Century
[link to www.simmonsfirm.com]

[snip]

The creek starts near Lambert Airport and runs through the communities of Berkeley, Florissant and Blackjack before joining the Missouri River. Since the 1940s, waste from two nuclear storage facilities near the airport is believed to have drained into the creek.

Mallinckrodt Chemical Company processed uranium for the Department of Defense in the 1940s. Nuclear by products were generated from the manufacturing process. That waste was then transported from the company’s downtown site to two locations in North County near the airport. They are called the St. Louis Airport Site and the Hazelwood Interim Storage Site. Coldwater Creek borders both locations.

"According to the Japanese media, “the Japanese government suspended 35 projects that were receiving money from the nation’s March 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster reconstruction fund. Recently, it was discovered that portions of the reconstruction budget were going to causes completely unrelated to the disaster. As much as one quarter of the 11.7 trillion yen (approx. $148 billion) fund was being diverted to other projects. These included the construction of a contact lens factory in a another part of Japan, and $30 million even went to the nation’s controversial whale hunting program.”"

No, you don't!

You are not able to show us a Censorship
here in Japan and you do not know even
1% of the Japanese Blogger-Scene dedicated
to the Fukushima-Karuizawa Topic!

Tepco wanted to create a additional Blog
because of the People like you, Amateurs
who do not know much but have the loudest Voice.
Neither Tepco nor the Japanese Government done so,
there are no paid Shills, Trolls or Dis-Informants
because People like you spread enough Bs.!

You know nothing about the Japanese Scene,
nothing about Nuclear Technology and nothing
about Fukushima, 95% of your contribution is
provided by Fuku-Diary and you do not even
spend a bit of Time for Research, you just Copy it!

As soon People say something different you try
to discredit them, this Thread here is a good Example,
all of you are not really fair and you do this here
not for the benefit of the People!

And many of the People who posting from Japan make
it very easy for you because they are angry
about your provided Lies!

Since day one there is only one kind of Censorship
and this is coming from the stupid People
who think that they understand something,
People like you are much more harmful for
the Anti-Nuclear Movement.

People like you demand Radicalism without
being even a bit Radical by your self,

here on Glp than do so but don't link

TVA spokesmen Bill Sitton and Travis Brickey said permanent fixes could cost $20 million to $30 million.

A draft safety modification document from September notes that a public suggestion to "floodproof" the Watts Bar, Sequoyah and Browns Ferry nuclear plants with their own walls or levies would be even more costly -- as much as $1 billion.

[link to www.radioaustralia.net.au]
 Quoting: Waterbug

"There had been a trend within Japan to have a very narrow appreciation of Chernobyl," he said.

"So I stressed that they should have an open-ended understanding of Chernobyl and not narrow, and they were quite willing to look at that."

Mr Grover also raised concerns that the Japanese government is not screening enough of its people, and had been overly optimistic with radiation exposure thresholds.

"Listening to the communities has not been a top priority and I stress that this should be done," he said.

Although he welcomed ongoing health checks for Fukushima's 2 million people, Mr Grover said they needed to be extended because the impact of the radiation went far beyond Fukushima's borders.

TEPCO aims to end Fukushima No. 4 unit's fuel removal in 2014

Tokyo Electric Power Co. and the government said Monday they will seek to complete the removal of all fuel assemblies inside the No. 4 unit of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant by the end of 2014, a year earlier than initially planned.

The schedule was moved up amid lingering concern over the condition of the unit that stores 1,533 fuel assemblies in its spent fuel pool, the largest number among the four damaged units at the plant. The upper part of the unit's building was severely damaged by a hydrogen explosion last year.

Social media goes nuclear for NRC, Seabrook
[link to www.gloucestertimes.com]

[snip]

National regulators and those involved in the nuclear industry say monitoring social media to ensure the public gets accurate information has become an essential part of their work.

“When events like this happen, we have someone here monitoring social media,” Sheehan said. “We monitor for rumor control to stop erroneous information from getting out so as not to scare the public.”

Situations such as these are why Seabrook Station’s parent company, NextEra, located in Juno Beach, Fla., now has people within its communications team monitoring social media and correcting misinformation when needed.
