There are no Melt-Throughs,
the Coriums are inside of the big Vessel and in
the case of Nr. 1 inside of the Saddle
but the Corium is not in the open Environment
or outside of the Security Vessel or Building!

melt through is outside the contaiment which is it meant to be in place, that failed.. melt down is the failure where initial containment holds.... none is true = EPIC FAIL TEPCO BOY......

The Pressure Vessel is small and not well protected,
but yes-the Corium left this Pressure Vessel,

The Pressure Vessel was never ever designed
to hold the molten Fuel in a case of Melt-Down,
for this the designed the Containment- Vessel!

2. MELT THROUGH is removal of said elements down ie: corium into containment cemented below (as final containment), and in breach of primary containment....

3. further corium collates as a glass like substance that "hopefully will pool as a tar like layer dependent upon heat and conversive reactivity"....

N.Korea: Nuclear test targets US

North Korea has issued a statement that strongly suggests it will carry out a third nuclear test.

The National Defense Commission says it will carry out "high-level nuclear tests and more long-range rocket launches targeted at the United States." The statement was released on Thursday by the state-run media.

The North's top military body denounced the UN Security Council resolution condemning the country's rocket launch in December.

Prosecutors question former TEPCO executives

Japanese prosecutors have questioned 2 former executives of Tokyo Electric Power Company in connection with the 2011 nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant.

Sources have told NHK that the 2 are TEPCO's former chairman Tsunehisa Katsumata and former president Masataka Shimizu.

The prosecutors are believed to have asked them to explain what kind of measures their company had taken against tsunami risk and how likely they had predicted such an accident would be.

Toshiba, GE to expand tie-up in thermal power

Electric power giants Toshiba and General Electric are expanding their partnership, aiming to cash in on rising global demand for thermal power.

Japan's Toshiba and GE of the United States say they reached an agreement on Thursday to explore the formation of a joint venture. The tie-up will develop and sell thermal power generation systems with increased fuel-efficiency.

The partners say they have yet to decide on details including the division of ownership. They hope to launch the venture by the end of this year.

$20 trillion shale oil deposit found in Australia

SYDNEY — Australian resources firm Linc Energy said it had uncovered a huge oil deposit in the nation’s vast outback in a discovery hailed Thursday by officials as worth some A$20 trillion (U.S.$21 trillion).

Linc said two independent reviews of its three deposits in central Australia’s Arckaringa Basin had estimated there was up to 233 billion barrels of shale oil trapped within its rocks.

Reactors must be terror-proof as well as quake-proof: regulator

TOKYO — Japan’s new nuclear regulator said Wednesday it was going to require power companies to make reactors terror-proof as well as quake-resistant, as the body set out to prove it was a watchdog with teeth.

Shunichi Tanaka, chairman of the Nuclear Regulation Authority, said plants would have to be able to survive a direct hit from a hijacked airliner or ship, as well as withstand tsunamis like the one that crippled Fukushima.

“For absolutely sure, if we continue… Japan will have the world’s toughest standards in terms of earthquakes and tsunami,” Tanaka told a press conference.

TEPCO plans to dump water from Fukushima plant after cleaning it

The operator of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant said Thursday it plans to dump contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean after removing radioactive substances to reduce contamination to legally permissible levels.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said it sees the measure as necessary because it fears eventually running out of capacity to store radioactive water that continues to accumulate at the plant as a result of continuing water injection into the three damaged reactors.
