Ex-TEPCO Chairman Katsumata to resign from all positionsFormer Tokyo Electric Power Co. Chairman Tsunehisa Katsumata will retire from a position at an affiliated company where he served after leaving the utility to take responsibility for the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster, sources close to TEPCO said Friday. Katsumata is an absentee director at Japan Atomic Power Co., a nuclear power plant operator that sells electricity to its major shareholders such as TEPCO and Kansai Electric Power Co. But he will step down in June, the sources said. The move will leave the 73-year-old, who steered Japan's largest utility for a decade as president and chairman, with no other job positions.
