We should not conclude on the result of thyroid examination as nothing to do with Fukushima fallout. Normally 1 to 2 in 1 million children develop thyroid cancer. However in Chernobyl, 4 children developed thyroid cancer in the following year. Also we should be well aware that cancer spread into lung in one in six cases in Chernobyl. Nuclear disaster is a national crisis. We haven’t learned a lesson from the Chernobyl disaster and been neglecting the danger of Nuclear energy. The Japanese Government should support the Fukushima disaster victims financially by giving them more regular and full examination and evacuating them into safer area.

The documents clearly show the US is pressuring Japan to continue with the MOX fuel cycle program, something the US has failed to do themselves. The US has claimed the concern to be that the plutonium would be diverted to military use. Japan has a massive amount of spent nuclear fuel, more than they could ever realistically use through reprocessing into MOX. The US stance also ignores the prospect of vitrification, a technology that encases the material in a glass substance rendering it unusable for weapons.

The US is still struggling to create an operating vitrification plant at the Hanford nuclear site but France has two functioning vitrification plants.

Cost overruns, delays, indecision, poor planning.. lotsa crap.
The MOX program has political promises tied up with it.
Lotsa money invested.. too big too fail type of thing.
Easier to enforce it in Japan to show good faith.

Fukushima survey wrongly estimates radiation exposure of 16,000 people

Fukushima Prefecture and the National Institute of Radiological Sciences said Tuesday they erroneously estimated the radiation exposure of 16,118 people in a survey covering the first four months following the March 2011 nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

Among about 420,000 people the authorities have finished compiling data on so far, recalculations show 12,469 received higher doses and 3,649 lower doses than previously estimated.

The margins for revisions range from plus 0.4 millisievert to minus 0.2 millisievert. As a result of revisions, some were found to be exposed to more than 1 millisievert, which is the annual limit set by the government for ordinary citizens.

You seem to be wishing to bring things back to the way things were before by taking advantage of the Abe administration’s policy of promoting nuclear power generation.

After the Quake and Tsunami they was realitive quick to restore this Stations but the most important thing to do was Harm Reduction!

And we had many other Stations a bit away from the Quakecenter,
so we can make Calculations in that way which was impossible
after Chernobyl where we had 4 or 5 Stations in whole Western Europe!

You don't understand anything, not from the nuclear Point,
the medical View or the social Impact!
