Anything else added to it is whatever someone WANTS to believe. Just because you can add a few riddles to a situation does not make it more valid. I think we'll know soon enough, you can't "hide" a dwarf star. When it enters the inner planets orbits, it would already be showing a gravitational influences on Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, even the Sun would feel it's effects.

Here's my thoughts. Elenin is not large enough to cause significant gravitational influence. However, being a long period comet, she has traveled thousands of years and many trillions of miles (yes with a "t"). Ele may have become highly charged by traveling vast distances through intergalactic space and plasma.

Properly aligned and in the correct proximity, charged objects tend to discharge. Ever wonder what a lightning bolt millions of miles long would do if it hit us? (me either until I thought about this shit) I'm betting it would do more than just a little static zap. At the very least it would fry us to oblivion. There's a little doom for you...

IF the distance at our closest pass by of this comet on September 25/26/27th is short enough, the charge WILL FOLLOW the 'ladder' of electrical charge from sun to Earth ( Already proven in the last two years) and HIT Earth, knocking out ALL electronic equipment/cars/telephones/cell phones/etc. putting us IMMEDIATELY back into the 1800s !
