For your problem to work you'd have to know, for a fact, that you're going to hell. You don't. I think that to find peace you need to give up dogmas and yes, for the most part even the bible and look for the truth in your heart. I do believe that's where God put it. Sorry if that didn't answer your question but please don't give up. God is good, not responsible for the bad and in the end it will all make sense. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1440654 United States 06/23/2011 07:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You have asked a classic question which has lead to the numerous divisions within Protestantism. There is "decision theology," where every individual must make a choice to accept or reject Christ. Then there is the theology of the absolute decrees of God, usually called "reformed theology." The basic assumption is that God as absolute sovereign has foreordained some of humanity to salvation, and the rest to damnation. The conflict really comes from God's omniscience versus an absolute predestination. Yes, God has absolute knowledge of all future events. Does this mean that he has decreed them, or simply that he knows the outcome of all contingent events, i.e. how you or I or anyone will choose between alternatives? Five hundred years of Protestantism has not finally resolved that question. The original view was that humans have free will, which is in direct opposition to reformed theology. The "mediating position" adopted by most modern reformed churches is that those whom God has chosen are the only ones who will unfailingly persevere to the end. I prefer to think that we still have a choice in our own destiny. But I have no way of proving which view is correct. Does anyone? |

Would the Spirit not provide guidance and comfort? jmho. I hope you find the answers to the questions you are seeking. Blessings and prayer to you, |

Lester, no longer logs in... User ID: 1439244 United States 06/23/2011 07:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Might just be your time for decision... Can you Trust God Fully with your life? Do you Know that Father is Worthy of your Complete Trust? If so, time to tell HIM now. Want HIM to Relieve your anxieties and take away your fear? I was Given this Witness: Anyone who has ever Loved Christ Jesus, even only when they were a child, will not be lost or condemned. Love Jesus with a True heart? Know WHO Jesus IS? Then perhaps you need to take action and turn your life over Unto The Father? Who else is there to Trust, Fully and Completely? Who more worthy than The Father? Might pray about this a while and open your heart Unto God and ask HIM to take over and Guide your life. You have free-will. Trusting God and Coming Into HIS Accord aligns you with HIM and you will never be on your own again. May Father's Peace become Known to you. Maranatha!!! |

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. -- Colossians 1:20 God wants you to be saved and know the truth. 1 First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them. 2 Pray for kings and others in power, so that we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honor God. 3 This kind of prayer is good, and it pleases God our Savior. 4 God wants everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth, which is, 5 There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God. Jesus was truly human, and he gave himself to rescue all of us. -- 1 Timothy 2:1-5 |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1215410 United States 06/23/2011 07:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's always been harder for some more than others to live the righteous life. Even in the Bible there's examples of people struggling hard with it. Jacob wrestled with God. Jonah ran from God. Paul battled himself all the time. So what does all this mean? To abandon God? No, because He'll bring you back. The only other option would be to be an enemy of Him. Which is never the smart option since you will surely perish. Keep your faith and keep the struggle because He will reward you in His kingdom. Pray to Him to make it easier. He understands your struggle but He'll never give you more than you can handle. Even if you feel it is. |

SO.... I can only assume that god has already pre-determined .. WHO is already going to hell and not going to heaven..... SO .... Some of us really did'nt have a chance in the first place... ----------------------- I thought of this question any times... as I am a christian who DOES EVERYTHING that god asks of me... and it never seems to get better.. NO MATTER HOW HARD A PRAY.. NO Matter how much I tythe .. No matter how much I attend fellowship and read the bible... So.... I am starting to think that I was already chosen before I was even born to go to hell.. even though I believe in Jesus ... Would love to here some opinions Alternate realities, there are many rooms in the father's house, or somethin like that. In some reality you go to hell, in another you go to heaven. If God can see the future and see that you are going to hell that is only one option, it can go either way and it goes both ways. |

LoL just hoping god is scrolling through the threads todays and spots mine LoL I can only share a mans view OP. I think God is not interested in ritual. I think God is interested in an intimate relationship and knows the heart. He knows us better than we know ourselves. When we draw near to him he certainly draws near to us. Set aside some time ans seek him through prayer and through scripture and through fasting (if you are inclined). I hope you draw near to him and feel his presence. It is unmistakable. JMHO. Another mans opinion. Hope for you today. peace, |

NOW is eternally changing - this is the eternal constant. Also, the Almighty God - Eternal Source of ALL existence - spiritual and physical - encompasses ALL, this means you already dwell in God and can't be expelled. If you could be expelled, it would mean that there is something outside and hence greater than the Almighty. That which is - has already been, And what is to be - has already been. Yes, there is some predetermination but, at the same time, your freewill weighs a lot; otherwise , we wouldnt be living in tis mess we are in nowadays. In fact , it matters so much, that he respect even Satan's legal ownership of this planet, which we lost aeons ago. But dont believe me, trust your sincere and honest faith while praying for understanding. Last Edited by Starknight on 06/23/2011 07:27 PM 1 John 1–3._ 1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. @Starknight921 |

It says that He knits us together in our mother's wombs, has counted the hairs on our heads. Here's the thing, nobody deserves to go to heaven within themselves or their own merits. All fall short. So, everyone goes to hell....unless.... the believe in God and the One whom He has sent. You don't have to be religious, or pious, or holy... EVERYONE falls short. all you have to do is believe. Perhaps God is looking for a servant he can boast about? One who's faith is not wavered by things which are temporal. One who he can prune so that he may grow stronger and more close with? Perhaps your faith is being tried in a furnace to prove it is more valuable than anything else in this world? Are you familiar with the book of Job? I imagine you are. Are you familiar with the book of Daniel (shadrach meshach and abednego). I am sure you have read those stories. There are lessons for us all in scripture. P.S.
