I know I won't be flying commercially and subjecting myself to that indignity and dangerous radiation scanners.

TSA is vile and disgusting. HEre is a quote from the article:

They need to be stopped. Seriously, they cannot exempt 95 year old 100 pound women from the screening?

My own experience with these cretins wasn't as humiliating, but maddening. I was with my husband and son on our way to Florida, leaving NJ, when we went through screening, the 300 lb. TSA bitch responded to a question I had with the following:
"First you get in line, we search your stuff, you get on the airplane, sit down, shut up and go bye bye".

Yes I am sure because most people get to Hawaii by plane. I wonder if they could get some faster boats going. Maybe speed oceanliners.

We are still no safer now than we were pre 9-11 at our airports. Sad state of affairs.

Good thing I wasnt there - Id tell her to poop and pee all over him them stomp it in the rugs and ask everyone to help...

I recently flew with my family

I went through the detector after everyone else in my party.

There was no beep, but I was instructed to stand in a little box.

I calmly asked the agent what was going on and he told me I had been randomly selected for a search.

I told him I did not want to be separated from my family.

This has worked for me a couple of weeks ago when flying alone with my son.

interesting that I have been "randomly" selected on my last 2 flights... Anyway didn't work this time.

I was patted down thoroughly, but did not receive the enhanced version

Being a civil-libertiestard, I couldn't keep my mouth shut.

When he asked "do u have anything in your pockets" I replied "no. not even my civil rights"

He shrugged it off and said "I don't like this either, but I have to do it."

I replied "it's still wrong"

He then told me about his experience as a soldier and being patted down as well.

I replied "that too was wrong, but were you frisked like a criminal in front of your wife and kids?"

He did not reply and completed everything professionally and courteously

My family, who know me well, were pretty sure I was going to get arrested, but I didn't.

Moral of the story? I don't know. I had a benign experience with a pro, he didn't touch my junk, and he put up with my little comments

In the end, though, I still felt angry, embarrassed and violated.

Oh and for all you rackets, he was black.

This happened in Texas, btw.

Mexicans will get the perk through the U.S. government’s Global Entry Program, which allows participants to obtain security clearance by presenting a “machine-readable” passport or resident card at airport “Global Entry kiosks.” The machines issue the foreign travelers a transaction receipt and directions to baggage claim and the exit into the United States. Applying is easy. Candidates fill out an online application, provide valid identification and answer a few questions from a Customs and Border Protection officer.

On the bright side, that is good news for tourists who are not U.S. citizens. Or other people who aren't from the U.S. who may need to travel here.

When you buy a ticket for a baseball game you accept a waiver of claim for when that splintered bat pierces your heart or a baseball knocks you out cold.
Same goes for any other activity that you pay to attend most anything from a hockey game, to swimming at the beach, skiing, traveling by bus or train or plane, shopping in a mall, studying in a library, walking your dog, eating at McDonalds, you name it. All of those places are also a places potential terrorists can ruin your day.

Because it's NOT about safety. It's about conditioning sheople to submit and comply and quietly graze with the herd and fear the consequent disadvantage if you resist your role as cattle.

Simply avoiding flying is NOT a solution!

TSA is now doing patdowns on Amtrak, ferries, Greyhound buses, etc. Shopping malls are next. Random checks of autos have already begun.

Will you just avoid going to shopping malls and driving next? Then it will be movie theaters, etc. It will NEVER end, and then where will your "aversion" plan be? Will you stay locked up inside your house for the rest of your life?
