"I have a huge Redwood tree on my property & this morning, at 9:30am, I noticed this bizarre mist or bug swarm emanating from the top of it. The sun was located just behind it which gave it an even more mystical look." originating source: [link to iwitness.weather.com]

Whiteflies...
These white insects rise in clouds off disturbed plants and look like flying dandruff. They suck plant juices, yellowing foliage and weakening plants. They reproduce quickly and will kill the plant if left untreated.

"What you have just said, is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul."

If those are whitefly that tree is in serious trouble, check for wilting, sap creating black colored sooty mold. I have seen hundreds of whitefly infestations and they will hover and fly around, but nothing like that video

VERY cool! My best guess would be mayflies which should come a little later in the year up there (but not sure) If not that then some type of gnat. Do you have those biting buffalo gnats up there?
Sure. Porn makes total sense. You want to go rob a couple houses so we can smoke some porn? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1043775
