You are right that if I tell my partner this, he'd diagree. You helped confirm what I already thought was best. My problem has been that I could probably pick up work quicker than my partner, but I feel that if I do so then my partner will give up looking, and become a stay at home dad to my 3 children. As much as I love him, he has an addiction that may well overcome him when money becomes available again.

I've been so stuck in the loop of fear of what may happen if I work full time and leave him to care for our kids / the guilt of providing an income for our family. Actually, I've only just realised how much that loop has been draining me of my energy and leaving me stuck in so many ways.
