Actually... that is a very good question. And as someone else from the U.S. mention also for the 'land of the free'.
Considering... we did have that little thing of getting independence from England and also how we fought against the stamp act.
I never understood that why we had to pay taxes or have taxes... when we fought against it. Oh and the tyranny part too...
Hell even the idea of money... I never got. I mean yeah I know it's valuable... but really if you look at it it's not really.. money is just ink on paper or pieces of metal. People hold it as valuable when we never actually just think for one minute... " Why hand out pieces of metal with symbols on them or inked paper for things we need or want?"
It never made much sense to me how we can deem it important when there's soo much other things out there that is far more valuable.
And yet... people kill, steal, or cherish it above everything else.
I know we need some sort of way to trade for things we need or want but there's probably a better solution than using or cherishing such things like this. I remember reading back then that in the past people would trade things they had or had an over abundance of like grains, water, food, etc. Which does make more sense than how we do things now. Also they were closer and more community-like.
