Actually that stuff would be more likely related to the end of the last big Ice Age and the high rising of the sea that occurred and still stands today..
The problem with the idea of a rogue body coming like that is that it would have disrupted the orbits of most of the solar system, including the asteroid belt, and chances are earth would have been bombarded back to primordial life.
The doomtards who come up with these theories don't seem to think that far ahead heh

In between you have all kinds of configurations possible, including the scenario Astronut (I think) calculated for Elenin where Earth would be ejected into deep space. What complicates the matter somewhat is that it supposedly comes from the south at angles – I have seen from 13 to 38 deg on the ecliptic. It could not be glowing hot and be near. Everyone would see it, so you can rule that out immediately. you can only see it at the south pole.... that´s the direction it is coming in....
