I was just curious about what's going on out there
since losing my wife back in March.

so I end up on Yahoo mesenger chating and latter
texting. I ask about her birthday and it's right around the corner right. So I offer to send her a card and gift box
to be nice and I ask her if there is anything she needs.
She wants an expensive new 4G phone and I'm like uh... no
hon. But I send her a package and card anyways. Candles,
for when the power goes out, some chocolates she sent me as
a gift(part of the long story)a teddybear that says nurses give from the heart etc.

no it's ok but I was intrigued by how good the scam was.


I had no idea this went on. even showed me herself on a
webcam in the same room the pictures were she was sending
I didn't give her anything but was shocked when I found the scam and she just kept it going like the gig wasn't up yet.

I made a report with an agency the works with cyber crime
and contacted the SA in both the US and Ghana and gave them all the info I had.

I can see how people would get caught up in this really bad.


They were patient and persistent and when I called
them out she tried to convince me that I had ruined her career and she now stuck there. lol

Just really fucking weird.

My friend was dating a young woman for awhile
and she turned into a stalking psycho so
Im kinda nervous about getting into any of
that kind of trouble.
I was with my wife for 17 years so
I really don't have a clue.

All of the dating websites is full of Nigerian romance scammers too. They will put a photo of a handsome white guy from the states but they are really black nigerians trying to get money.

I've heard of it. I think as a general rule if they ask for or accept gifts and money from you, then they are trying to scam you.

They are all over the place OP.

I've had multiple conversations with Russian supermodels who all want to come to Florida and "make me the happiest man on earth." The only catch is, they all need $1000 to finish paying for their ticket. lmao

They are easy to spot, and they never answer direct questions. They just send you form letters and pics hoping to catch a fish. Report this jagoff to the site admin. and use them for entertainment.

You didnt explain the situation that well.. Im confused how she actually tried scamming you? Just faked that she was interested in you and asked for a gift on her birthday?

And yeah, many scams are coming from Ghana, people acting as poor black people come into paltalk Christian rooms(cause Christians are the only people who give to the poor these days it seems) and they say they need food, or they private message everyone in the room, its pretty annoying because they just want money all the time.. if they are really poor I would help them out, but I have no money to give anyway..

So yeah, I guess thats a form of a scam, they always say their from Ghana too, not sure why, as their are many countries in africa and I would suspect more nations do this too, you could actually make 50+ dollars a day probably doing this yourself lol.

she sends me godiva chocolates as a gift (?)
wants to establish a mailing contact

i send her a gift box because Im being nice
and never heard of this before.

wants to send stuff to my address to ship to her
(now scam is in full play)
sends lots of nice pics and sweet talking me big time

and of course wants me to help her get here
when I refuse she tries to convince me her life is ruined


it was all pretty funny but I could see how someone would fall for this and get hurt bad

OP, Internet dating websites can be the pits for trying to meet people. Have you tried to find a group on meetup dot com? If you have a hobby there ought to be group near you. Good luck in your search for a mate.

Anything from Africa on the internet is a scam.

Scam or not you should of ran the moment the gold digger asked for expensive new 4G phone, most women tend to be gold diggers, whorish or just plain crazy.

this girl tried to get me to pay her internet bill..said she was waiting on money from her fathers will basicly was very agressive on trying to get money out of me glad i got suspicious

both of these I beleive to be the same person claims to be in Nigeria and either works for unicef or is there claiming money relatives left to them in thier will, as i have done research on this these stories seem common same M.O.
