Carbon Tax, Global 'Warming' and Smart Grids - welcome to the New International Economic Order
This push towards a cashless carbon/energy-based currency seems to have started as early as 1932.
With today's technology, and the rolling out of the Smart Grid around the globe - we can seen now, the
steps taken by the elite to achieve this goal.
It is now obvious that major turning points such as: Nixon decoupling the dollar from gold, petro-dollars, the environment movement/Kyoto, peak oil and stimulus package spending - were all desired steps towards an Artificial Intelligence-controlled hi-tech future.

I recommend reading these articles in the following order. However, if you suffer from short-attention-span or lack-of-time disorders, read the final article first:

Carbon Currency: A New Beginning for Technocracy?
The resurgent philosophy of 1930's-style Technocracy is making a big comeback by seeking to control the world through energy-based accounting and a universal Carbon Currency. In the process, Technocracy would replace elected leaders with engineers, scientists and technicians who could run the world with science-based efficiency. What Technocracy could not achieve during the Great Depression appears to have finally found traction in the Great Recession.

Smart Grid: The Implementation of Technocracy?
Implementing 1930's-style Technocracy requires a method of monitoring, measuring and controlling consumption of energy on a nationwide basis. The federal government is racing to implement Smart Grid that will place a digital, Wi-Fi enabled power meter on every home in the U.S. Appliance makers are gearing up to include Smart Grid Wi-Fi circuitry, allowing two-way communication between your appliances, the power meter, the utility company and the Department of Energy.

Technocracy Endgame: Global Smart Grid
Local Smart Grids connect to National Smart Grids that connect to the rapidly developing Global Smart Grid. The entire global grid is likened to an emerging world wide web of energy that will "change our culture, society and how we do business... most importantly, it will alter how we use, transform and exchange energy."

1932?!? Try 1776 may 1...adam weishaupt...and really the quest for world dimination began in babylon. So 1932 is wrong. Otherwise everything else is pretty much spot on

So obviously NexEd, we haven't got a hope of ever getting 'free' energy? Is this why these patents don't get past 'national security'?
It seems obvious to me that the governments do not have any plans of moving toward free energy ever. This renewable energy scheme certainly won't save a consumer any money down the track. Maybe some may benefit in the short term with their solar power credits, but I can see them slowly being phased out in time by reducing the buyback scheme to where it becomes of little value. At least now they can offset the cost of their solar system, but what of the future?

So instead of a paycheck you will get carbon credits added to your smart meter which you can download to a chip implanted in your hand to make purchases. Your internet will be through the power grid, so you can pay bills online using the carbon credits in your smart meter.

Brilliant!

If this agenda goes ahead, then you will likely see the following: (not necessarily in this order)
- a crash of the financial system
- the introduction of a new TYPE of currency - based on energy not tangible assets like gold, silver etc
- the emergence of a global energy SMART grid, controlled by artificial intelligence, which talks to and supplies energy to every appliance and gadget you have, as needed
- an integrated global biometric ID system
- once the smart grid is in place, all petro/oil/gas and nuclear fuels will be phased out
- to be replaced by any one of the numerous suppressed and clean 'free energy' technologies they want. ONLY at this point will this technology emerge, because at this point - they have total centralised control of its use.

It is of course both an environmental and social utopia, with no pollution, no wars, global central govt, no cash (meaning no cash-driven crime), no private ownership of anything, and only two classes-the super elite and the rest.

It is also the ultimate totalitarian big-brother technocracy, run by artificial intelligence, and controlled by whoever thought it up all those years ago.

My guess is, that unless we accept this voluntarily, as some countries will, we will be put in positions where there is 'no choice', ie manufactured crises.

I also believe that the biggest steps towards this goal, will be made under the cover of 'natural' disasters, as well as the ever-present, manipulated and manufactured wars and financial disasters.

Petro dollar/carbon dollar. Time taken to build the world's economy using carbon based fuels is 50+ years, time allocated to change the world's economy to mainly use alternate energy sources less then 30. Industrial (carbon based)revolution-> industrial (carbon free) revolution. Good luck trying to find the money to pay the skyrocketing power bills plus coming up with the extra money to buy solar panels which will take years to pay for themselves.

Re: Carbon Tax, Global 'Warming' and Smart Grids - welcome to the New International Economic Order
Yes Nexed, It is not the way I imagined the world would evolve in the future. In fact the thought of it is quite frightening to our generation.
I recall seeing an article regarding some large power consortium in (I think) Florida or California that has applied for the rights to control solar power. Now if I remember correctly, a lady in the USA has claimed to own the sun through lodging some legal document. (They are all idiots) But, does the large power company now have to buy a licence from her to distribute 'her' solar power? Where does it all end?
They are probably likely to be granted their request as this would fit the long term plan and maintain control of the energy grid whether free or not.
Next thing Ergon, Energex or the like will try it on here in Oz as they most likely can see that their grip on coal fired or hydro power is weakening. (Also their fat profits)
I hope Tesla is reincarnated very soon, likely it will be too late for me.

And then we have the U.N. telling us exaxtly how much energy that we need to live on that works out to be just under 84 kilo-watt-hours per day, which is not a lot when you consider driving/heat/cooking etc.

World Economic and Social Survey 2011:
The Great Green Technological Transformation

From: Chapter 1

Recently, a number of studies have put increasing emphasis on the fourth
argument above for limiting growth in developed countries. To make their case, many of them presented evidence from cross-country data showing that the quality of life does not improve much beyond a certain level of per capita income. For example, taking life expectancy as an objective measure of the quality of life, it can be seen that life expectancy does not increase much beyond a per capita income level of about $10,000. Similarly, as indicated in chapter III of this Survey, cross-country evidence suggests that there are no significant additional gains in human development (as measured by the human development index) beyond the energy-use level of about 110 gigajoules (GJ) (or 2 tons of oil equivalent (toe) per capita).

While capping the use of energy and other resources by setting limits to growth in developed countries might have worldwide benefits, to many the prospect of “prosperity without growth” may not be very appealing. One reason for the difficulty involved entails what Jackson (2010) refers to as the “dilemma of growth”—the fact that while the current pattern of growth is unsustainable, the current structure of the economy and of society is such that an economy without growth is unstable. Acceptance and implementation of prosperity without growth will therefore require major structural transformations of economies and societies.

Obama: $3.4B for ‘smart’ power grid

President Obama on Tuesday announced a $3.4 billion federal investment to modernize the country’s outdated power grid.
The money will go to 100 projects in 49 states to add automated substations, digital transformers, electric meters in homes and other high-tech equipment to create a “smart” grid.

<snip>

The initiative will bring 18 million smart meters into U.S. homes and spur private investment to add an additional 22 million over the next several years, officials said.
The meters, in combination with smart thermostats, will save electricity and money by helping customers control how and when they use power.
“They can monitor [energy use] to the month, week, day or hour,” said Mr. Obama, who compared the effort to overhaul the grid with what it took Americans to win World War II and to put a man on the moon.
