So on the google speech to text on my android phone, if you dont want to type a message you just click on a little microphone button and say whatever you want and it spells out what you said, no big deal....

I am listening to the Yankee game on the radio in real time and for fun I press the microphone and let it record a few seconds of the game in real time. Instantly it gives me back the name of the radio station in new york. So I try it again and it says, "new york yankees, new york, new york"

For those of you that don't grasp the importance of this, it means google can monitor the incoming data in real time and find a match on the airwaves in a milisecond and know what I am listening to. Know you know they listen to every piece of audio in the world at once, the rabbit hole gets deeper.

It's a hive mind. The next step is acting on the instantly available data. If there is a non-compliant "sector" in the hive, the surrounding areas of the hive can converge on the non-compliant portion and eliminate it. Scary stuff.

Sorry to ruin your thunder I tried it twice. Recorded part of a tv show and it came up with new york. Tried with a song... same result. Nothing to see here... move along.

Also the new cell phones can record what you say and where you are even when turned off.

You CAN be located. This might be a nice feature if you want to be found (hiking, road trip, lost in the city somewhere) but not so good if you are on the lam.

All classrooms in my school have speakers up on the wall that make announcements and so on. One day the school secretary sent out an announcement giving the teachers an emergency number to call in case of invasion (not ET, but gang or shooter invasion) over the speaker phone (after school so no kids); and I thoughtlessly asked "What's that number again?" She answered me back, using my name, giving me the number. It was then I realized every word in my classroom could be taped, recorded, listened to.

Then a few months ago it was in the paper that a school was monitoring all of their students using the school computers via the camera in the monitor! And the students did not turn them on...done via programs. I keep a 'stick'em' over my monitor camera. Also, there was reports of televisions being used to monitor people (be incredibly easy to do) so mine is in a cabinet with the door closed (but don't know about picking up voice).

Yeah, it is very creepy. Maybe most of us aren't that important to surveil but we are always within reach....

no, no, i am quite knowledgeable in this, they only way this could be done is 2 ways:

1. Google has developed a quantum computer because that is the only way it could take a real time broadcast and pair it instantly with a real time recording from my phone.

2. Mainstream media broadcasts have a hidden algorithm that lets my droid know its not me talking into it, but rather a media transmition.
